| Professional STI Racer |  Went to the track (San Antonio Raceway) this Friday with some friends. It was the import shootout; it was really fun. There was a lot of well done up cars. The highlight of the night was MZM's STi running a 11.8 @120 MPH. That is amazingly fast. I leave it unto to guess whats under that hood  BTW this is the owners daily driver car its not the shop's race car!!!!It was the second time for me @ the track and I finally learned how to lunch my car pretty good I set the DCCD all the way to the back, I know some people set it at different positions and get better times but it seemed at the back I would get a little wheel spin (which hurt my time) but instead I wouldn't bog at all. I ran a 13.5 @ 100.xx I was also focusing too much on the lunch and granny shifting which again I think is the reason for the poor time and trap speed...I think I can run a high 12 in my car... I raced a turbo RSX i beat his time (13.5 vs. 13.7) but lost because of my 1 sec reaction time vs. his .5 sec. Then i beat the crap out of a turbo integra he was like a mile away he ran a 13.9 at 108 mph ...man if i saw that thing on the street rolling I stay away....and finally raced the nights winner RX-7 he ran 12.7 @120ish. Overall lots of fun, they gonna have this every 2nd Friday of every month I think if you near SA or Austin be sure to come and have fun. This ad is not endorsed by this member. | Professional STI Racer | dude..i mis-understood you...and sorry about that....i know what you mean about sti vs. evo...but still 11.8 @120 is fast...there was a evo there that had the GT35-R kit it was very clean and it was a monster the dude was running 30 lbs of boost or so he said....and its best time was 11.7 @123 MPH. he even ran a 14.xx on the final race but of course he had a bad run...thats why i made this post for an STi 11.8 @ 120 is good...look at Vishno's EVO that raped all the muscle cars in car and driver it ran 12.0 pass on its best run and had a 11.7 sec best pass... anyway man...its all good and like you said we are in this thing together...i just totally misunderstood your post.... defenitly you should come out next time its was a lot of fun |
