IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2003 Trader Rating: (3) | there is lots of Grp N info at the Subaru Group N project website, including a parts list of Group N allowed parts that have been homologated. http://www.subaru-sti.co.jp/e/GRN/index.html |

| Junior STI Driver | I believe they have only homologated the japanese STi models with 2L engines so at the least you would need a 2L swap to run your STi in Group N. I would suggest getting an 02-03 WRX and upgrading it for rally and stick to road and rallyx for an STi since the WRX is cheaper and you will need to reinforce the chassis and change diffs along with the required roll cage anyway to have a good car. Plus if you are starting out in rally buying something with a costly shell is not the best idea unless you are made of money. I am hopefully going to crew for a rally team next year and if i decide to get my rally car i will get something 2wd and run group 2. Good luck, Nate |

| Spec C Club | what they said. it would be better to buy a used group n race car or buy a shell from suabru and have a builder make the car from scratch. travis pastrana bought a sti and then made it a group a group n car with a builder up in vermont. it's a very costly process. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2003 Trader Rating: (3) | for good rally info you will want to check out the forums at http://www.specialstage.com also look up Stephan Verdier, he has a 2002 WRX PGT car that is for sale. He had a soft rollover with it on Saturday at Ramada Express rally, so he will be fixing everything with new parts and putting it up for sale again. His shop is in Huntington Beach and is a great guy. I'm sure he would be willing to talk with you about setting up a car at least. He also has the cool French rally accent. Travis' car in 2004 was not an STi, but the one that Vermont Sports Car is building for him now is. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2003 Trader Rating: (3) | I just got an email from Stephan Verdier about his car. He is going to fix it all up to like new and sell it for ~$25k. This is the car that won Rim of the World rally last year. It's very well sorted and a heck of a bargain at that price. I'm sure you can find numerous pics of it on the web. It would be a fantasticly competitive way to get into rallying. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
