i've been thinking of getting into rally racing, something like the SCCA Clubrally and if that were to work out maybe step up to ProRally. i was just curious if anyone in the Racing community has a general figure as to what it costs to run a non-professional race team?

Default FS: 04 STi Brembo Front and Rear Calipers

It is totally dependant on the series and number of events you drive in.

For instance, star mazda, the car is 70 grand, and you are looking at probably 5-10k per race you enter.

Rally... I would think goes even higher since you need to factor in a lot more repair costs,

what about static costs?
such as entry fee, pit stuff (crew i guess mostly) and things that are a given... not damage and that sort of stuff

rally is not as expensive as many people think.

If you check out http://www.specialstage.com there is a forums section where virtually the entire North American rally community can help answer any questions you might have and teach you from their many years of experience.

road rally, as i have seen it defined, is more a test of navigation than all out speed. you "race" at posted road speeds and find checkpoints, all to get a perfect time. could be fun but i'd rather dance with trees.
