| Gold Member | Ok, I have never done a rally x, but after I have just finished an auto x that got me hooked, I want to try a rally x now. I have Conti Xtreme contacts on the stock bbs' right now and I was wondering if those tires would be ok to use on the rally x. I really couldn't afford to buy some off-road tires. Please let me know what you pros think. Thanks, RC This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2003 Trader Rating: (3) | not sure what surfaces your local RallyX run on because some are tarmac and dirt combined, some are 100% dirt, some are gravel. Eitherway, I would recommend buddying up with a ProRally team to get some cast offs they should have different gravel and possibly some intermediate or tarmac tires that you could get at a very cheap price.Otherwise I would go with a LONG wearing snow tire, I do know that the Hakka's do NOT hold up well to gravel/dirt because the warm temps make them very very soft. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2003 Trader Rating: (0) | i have heard that Blizzak WS-50's are popular. they are also relatively inexpensive and are offered in a 17 in size that fits the STi. there are no real Rally tires that i have seen in 17inch sizes. i will hopefully be running my STi at a RallyX in July and will be using my Blizzak LM-22's. some RallyX organizers do not allow "off road" only tires. they feel if you can't or would'nt run it on the street you should'nt run it in a RallyX. Jrich523 has run two RallyX with the stock Potenza tires and has had lots of fun. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
