IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2005 | A 13.1 isnt enough to beat a stock cobra. Stock cobras with a decent driver run high 12's and with good drivers run mid 12s. And with the VF39 you probably wont even trap as high as a stock cobra. Not knowing the kid who owns the cobra it will probably be a drivers race though, cobras with stock tires are hard to hook up. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2004 | Car and Driver I believe had that car clocked at 12.99 in the 1/4. I raced one with my conquest from a roll. I had him until the kid down shifted and then it was no contest at all. At that time the Quest was a mid 13 sec car. The Cobra driver said it was stock and it could have been. I dont think you have a chance from 50-120mph. Your only chance would be from a launch and a short race. A long race and he will run you down. The problem with daddy bought performance cars is that they usually get their kids or someone else killed because the kids dont have enough driving experiance or skill. Sometimes having to much money and not enough brains is not a good thing just ask the Kennedys. Tony |

+1000. That is the problem. Or you have idiots in Z06's that like to pass people on the shoulder and think it's funny.

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2005 | Do it from a dig and you may have a chance. Hope he doesn't have a IRS brace and breaks the diff cover from launching. Bone stock I ran 13.108@110.21 leaving at idle(No IRS Brace) I dyno'ed 366whp stock. Then after intake, catted x, and cb, I went 13.0@114. Then my clutch wouldn't disengage after that. And had a hard time getting into gear. Ran 13.0@104, hiccuping 3rd gear and never getting it into fourth. From the 1/8 mile I was bound to run a mid 12. 2.0 60' Don't even try him from a roll. He will rape you. I used to pull stock STi's with my stock SRT-4 on a roll. A stock Cobra vs. a stock SRT_4 is ugly. So I can only imagine what it would be like for an STi. | Professional STI Driver Feedback Score: 0 reviews | i have two friends with 03 svt cobras. one has headerback exhaust and CAI the other is stock. the stock car smoked my stock sti. i was faster until i hit the 1/8 mile mark and he just pulled rediculously faster. the modded one put down 450+ whp with only those basic mods. race him in the snow or in any sort of twisty and you'll take him easy. what is your 60' when you ran a 13'1? *edit* Quote:
my piss poor 60' times (best of 1.87 or something) dominated thier 2.2 and 2.3 60' times. Last edited by Xyloft; 11-07-2007 at 10:38 PM..

| Spec C Club Feedback Score: 1 reviews | From a dig, if he's a good driver he'll pass you by 80mph probably. From a roll , those f*ckers are nasty. RWD>AWD from a roll. I race one from a 20 punch(on a closed course) and i pulled hard till 110mph. Granted it was a vert with 1 passengers, i was still proud of my defeat. I also raced him from a dig, bogged my launch and still came around him. Maybe he just couldn't drive. I have no clue. If i were you though, i would put an fpgreen on it, injectors, plugs, water/meth, get a protune and then show up for the battle. He'll just assume it's still the stock vf-39 since you already have a fmic |

But the other question... my 60's were averaging high 1.7s. I still have the crappy all season tires on it. Ecesta ASX's on the front and Ventus HR2's on the back I believe. I wish the guy that had it before me would have put all that money to something that would count lol With the front mount, bov, and intake I'm thinking a 13.1 is pretty good considering all I've heard is that all those hurt my performance. I pulled on a Mach 1 last night though
