Well I am super glad that this worked out. I clearly remember this situation. You are correct, the latest version of the plate uses an inset style nut for more thread engagement which is what we have just released within the last month. We wanted more engagement with our coilovers in particular. The current engagement is fine. Making sure the OEM conical washer is used is KEY also as this allows for proper clearance. Sometimes techs wont use that washer which brings the perch very close to the plate. One of the things that we have changed in the assembly of the T2's AND what we send when people who buy Kw's is a PICTURE of how to use the strap wrench around the shaft. I think this makes a huge difference in getting enough torque on the nut. As well we have released the rear pillowball to encourage a complete kit that WE can assemble which reduces any issues for the end user( same with group-n mounts as well). Anyone with the previous design prior to the inset style nut be sure if you need to reassemble for any reason to use the strap wrench wrapped around the shaft twice when applying torque to the nut.

Thanks for the kind words. Let me know if you need anything. As you know I make myself reachable via e-mail or phone most of the time. Good luck with a complete season in 2008.

Myles

Ah! I could only imagine the kind of frustration I would have felt, BUT I know Myles and the gang would have taken care of it, just the way they have with you. I agree with you 100%, Myles and the RCE team are absolutely TOP notch and you can't find customer service like that ANYWHERE...awesome awesome awesome! I never had a problem with my RCE lowering camber plates *old version*, but the moment I found out the new ones came with A) bigger bearing B)more negative camber adjustability and C) Inset style nut with RCE's own washer, I had to jump on them, so I bought them. This time around I bought the non-lowering per recommendation from RCE, it was needed if I'd like more negative camber for my track/auto-x days. Anyway, I have nothing but good words to say about RCE and there products...and like you, I will continue to pay whatever it is...to receive the kind of care and compassion they treat their customers with.

A+ and thumbs up to you RCE!

Kind Regards,
Ryan

FWIW, I will be installing my Rear RCE Pillowballs tomorrow. Alignment/Corner Balance Tuesday! I can't wait!!!!!!

Default Kudos to RCE!

Well I finally got around to swapping out my V1 yellow fronts to the V2 replacements that Myles & team at RCE sent me a while back.

I really wasn't all that unhappy with the V1 yellows... the roads are pretty smooth where I live. I knew I was bottoming the springs occaisionally, and they jolted a little when I went over pavement seams... but over all the car handled great with V1's, or so I thought.

After looking at the removed V1's there was a bunch of paint missing between the coils as others have reported, so that probably means they were binding more than I felt it.

I figured the V2's would feel just like the V1 but not bind: wrong. The V2 yellows feel MUCH better. I was looking for some bumps to hit and they soaked them up like butta. The car handles better. V2 yellows are GREAT! I always did like the car stance with RCE yellows, nice and squatty but not slammed either.

I don't know about you, but I don't think too many companies that trade a lot on the web actually broadcast that they are replacing parts. RCE didn't manufacture these, their supplier screwed up and RCE stood tall for their customers, at considerable expense to them I'm sure.

Kudos to RCE! Great products and even better service! If you are contemplating new springs, RCE V2 yellows are the ones... and for me with Koni inserts/wrx struts/Grp N hats, they seem like a perfect match!

Question RCE *resolved* my RCE Camber-Plate issue

****
RCE resolved my issue

****

Hi Everyone,

I need suggestions. I got my KW V3 along with RCE non-lowering Camber Plate about 2 years ago. I just found out today that my front R camber plate show is crack.

Instead of risking getting another RCE Plate, I just want to get something that's more durable.

Any suggestions for something that would work on my 06 STi with KW V3 suspensions?

Thanks
Eddy Lau

Eddy,

The plates must be put to good use! They are actually pretty damn beefy plates if you ask me...RCE has improved them from the old design. Get a hold of Myles, he may be able to help you out here.

I have the current revision of the RCE plates and love them *had the old ones before* No problems whatsoever.

If you still choose to stray away from RCE, take a look at the new Vorschlag plates that TIC sells. They look awesome and I'm sure they perform well!

So much that I may have to get them...just because I have nothing else to spend my money on with my car...

I couldn't be happier with my plates though! Keep us posted!

Happy Motoring!

Kind Regards,
Ryan

Well..I am hoping to find something stronger...! I actually didn't drive it that hard.., but I wonder if it might has been damage by running over pothole..? Well..the roads suck here in Seattle.., at least at my area..!

Is the Whiteline Max-C Camber Plates - Motorsports a better choice? Wonder if it would work with KW V3?? Or the PDE??

I'd get the Vorshlag plates before I would mess with the WL or PDE stuff. Call up Myles about those RCE plates, they're damn beefy and you're the first person I've heard of that cracked them.

Eddy contact me asap. This is extremely rare!! The 2 times I have seen this is where people have have hit something that caused this or where a customer hit a large object in the road during construction. By all means I would at least like to get the plate back to see what happened.

I pm-ed you also and asked what ride height were you running on the V3's and if you do remember hitting any LARGE pot holes.

As with any camber plate is you hit a large enough pothole esp at a slower speed you can damage the plate or pillowball to some degree.

Let me know, I sent you a Pm.

Sorry this happened to you.
