Well, I guess I'll find out how the newer 20G's stack up. Wish me luck folks and if it blows up... 35R here I come.

Interesting. A poster who registered nearly 3 years ago, but only bothers to post now.

Well, this is a very austere occasion! (looks for a false sincerity emoticon, fails)
And why not make your first post in three years one defending a product in the face of a band wagon of criticism? Why is that suspicious.

Where you can really judge a company, (and then be confident in recommending it to other people) is when the things go bad, like in Majin's situation, which clearly demonstrates FP's sub-par customer service, and their unwillingness to work with him, even though he only asked for a refund, to which I believe (as a very unhappy customer) he was fully entitled to! Oh well, FP is about to learn something about the old "customer is always right" adage on this one!
I agree, its easy to handle thank yous from happy customers with grace and civility, its another thing entirely to do the same for the angry customers. Also a product's reliability should not be judged based on the experiences of a few happy customers. Reliability from a mechanical engineering stand point has to do with failure rates across an entire product's run. Its a higher than average failure rate as shown by all the posters having bad experiences that indicates a cheaply/poorly made product. So what if a few people are happy, what matters is that a suspicious amount of people are not.

I have seen plenty of bad customer service from subaru vendors, both personally and in forum threads. I don't think this qualifies.
I agree with this guy. FP did try to make this right, sure they could have done better but it wasn't a bad offer.

There are a lot of people using FP turbos with no problems. Incidents like Majin are a bummer but they represent a small minority of FP customers

i agree fully with this post and the quoted. its easier to lose customers than to gain them but i feel FP did make a decent offer in order to maintain one customer. whether the deal is accepted is another story. sucks to hear about a turbo failure and its nice to know about issues like these, but sometimes threads like this are taken too far.

to those that make statements like, send the vendor this thread, etc., you really need to think that through. if the dispute were to take a legal route all you would be doing is giving the otherside ammunition in which a good lawyer could point defamation/slander, and then the decision could be swinging the other way. just something to think about.
