While I agree that FP could/should have done more in terms Majin's situation, I think we should all keep our perspective in line.

While I agree that if someone you know asks for your personal recommendation on what turbo to go with, give it to them how you should see fit.

If you aren’t giving the recommendation to FP, then say I would go with xxx turbos because of xxx reasons.

However, we should not be all jumping on the "lets destroy/take down FP" bandwagon and bad mouth FP for how they handled this one particular situation every chance we get.

Remember, there are a lot of other people out there running FP turbos and are happy!

Just my $0.02

I think a business relationship should be judged on how it handles the rough times (Majin's case), and not the cases of other happy customers, when everything went smooth. It's easy to say you're a good company if everything is going well. Where you can really judge a company, (and then be confident in recommending it to other people) is when the things go bad, like in Majin's situation, which clearly demonstrates FP's sub-par customer service, and their unwillingness to work with him, even though he only asked for a refund, to which I believe (as a very unhappy customer) he was fully entitled to!
Oh well, FP is about to learn something about the old "customer is always right" adage on this one!

Has anyone heard from Majin since this post? I'm curious to see if FP is aware of this thread and is trying to work something out with him now?

Oh well. If FP was smart they would draft up an apology to the community and Majin and try to work something out with him to save face.... although the damage has most likely already been done.

FP does NOT need to send any type of an apology to IWSTI. If anything it's just to Majin.

IWSTI doesn't have anything to do with what happened between Majin and FP.

We are only reading this thread for information purposes only! Remember that!

yea well my only response to that is, if jack left it in there is...

Forced Performance recommends REMOVING this "Turbocharger Oil Supply Mesh Screen" in all vehicles running our FPGreen and Red model turbochargers. The thrust bearing used in these turbochargers has very little tolerance for reduced or limited oil supply. In fact this bearing actually requires approximately TWICE the oil volume as a stock IHI turbocharger and can die a quick and sure death if fed its life giving oil through one of these restricted filters. It is also completely possible that a slightly restricted filter will destroy your FPGreen model, but not destroy your stock turbo when installed back onto the car after the failure of the FPGreen, this is due to the fact that the factory turbochargers do not have the same high volume flow requirements of the FPGreen and Red Model Turbos and are therefore the stock turbo is less sensitive to partially restricted oil supply. This made diagnoses even more difficult since in some cases, stock turbos were installed after a failed FPGreen or Red model and an immediate failure of the stock turbo was not observed.
and lastly, i mean they offer it free with the turbo, why not take advantage of it??

We are offering a "bolt replacement kit" for those wishing to replace this troublesome "Turbocharger Oil Supply Mesh Screen" with standard hi-flow banjo bolt free of charge to all FPGreen and Red customers in our system, and this bolt is now supplied with all New FPGreen and Red model turbochargers sold on or after 12/1/07.

if you took the liberty to see the dates all this occurred, you will see that these events were surely the reason behind that "bolt replacement kit" that Failboat Performance posted.

what about all the rest of my STI brothers/sisters that had FP turbos like these put on before their day late-dollar short fix was made public?

obviously my car was one of many unwilling and expensive R&D subjects as i originally speculated.

your post helps get my point across, so thank you.

Failed Performance indeed.
