I will be sure to remove FP's website from my favorites and not consider them when I am doing a turbo upgrade (soon).

Personally, after reading all the emails in that post, I would side with FP. I think the resolutions offered by FP are appropriate and I think the OP is out of line bringing up his moderator status and secondary costs such as tuning and rental cars. It's a bit weird to expect a full cost refund for aftermarket parts that may or may not have been defective when this is not included in the published warranty...I think it's generous that FP offered a cash refund at all, especially considering the mode of failure.

I have seen plenty of bad customer service from subaru vendors, both personally and in forum threads. I don't think this qualifies.

i dunno about you but Id rather buy a quality turbo that functions properly the FIRST time and doesn't keep crapping out. That way Id be happy and not have to have rental cars and crap AND i wouldnt have to deal with the customer service. Everyone's happy!

Hmmmm, this all making since now. Last year I went to my tuner to install a FP20G and he wouldn't sell me one because of similar issues but mainly because of the oil starvation issue. Instead he sold me an "overpriced" APS BB turbo. No problems to date, knock on wood.

I was looking at the FP20g as I'm in the process of a turbo upgrade myself, but I have always heard bad things about thier customer service. Looking back, I'm glad I went with the GT52 as I probably just saved myself one hell of a headache. At least with the GT52 I can rest assured that if I do have any problems, I WILL be taken care of, and ultimatly, that's how you win over customer's.
