Default Rally Armor

Not knowing where else to put this so that RA will see it.

I attempted (multiple times) to place an order for the 08 STi mud flaps (gray logos for my DGM). During the on-line process several of the verification codes weren't recognized and multiple refreshes had to be done to get a code that worked.

More importantly, every attempt to pick the least costly shipping (priority mail @ $14.40) was replaced with the mode expensive option (express @ ~$32). Repeated efforts got the same results so I cancelled the order and left a voice mail for you.

--UPDATE--
In the middle of typing up this message my phone rang. It was Rally Armor! They had gotten my voice mail message and called me back even though I thought they weren't open on the weekend.

While talking to her, she updated the shipping module of the web site, placed my order for me to test that the update was working, and confirmed that the order was placed and will go into the post on Monday.

Super KUDOS! I am floored by this level of customer focus! I've always said that excellent products can be brought to their knees by poor customer service. In the same way, good products become excellent when customer service goes beyond the call of duty. Rally Armor's excellent product and amazing service puts it at the top of the heap in my book!

Now all I need is the patience to wait for the new mud flaps to arrive.

Good customer service experience. Hope that's the norm rather than the exception.

Did the installation of the fronts yesterday and called it quits. Seems I'm coming down with something and that half of the project was enough for the day.

Went out this morning and did the backs. I expected the back installation to be the tougher of the two but they were a snap (no brackets or need to pull the fender well linings).

2 observations

1. I found that hitting RA's web site to look at their color photos (larger) were a bigger help than the poor-quality, small, B&W photos in the instructions that came with the kit.

2. RA seriously needs to have someone, who speaks English as a first language, proof read their instructions. I spent more time trying to figure out what the broken English was trying to tell me than I did installing the product. Which is also why the photos on their web site became so important. Listen, folks, you have to have at least quality example photos if your written instructions such moist ass cheese. Alternately, if you're going to skimp in printing costs, then make the written word understandable. In the best of worlds, the instructions would have both (high quality photos and well written instructions with properly-constructed sentences.

But, after re-reading the instructions many many times and test fitting everything several times, the installation is all done. I'm not going to do a web page for it since there's nothing different to what the instructions mean for you to do. Not even a need for a photo since there are plenty of those floating around, too.

Great product
Excellent customer service
Mediocre installation instructions

Thanks for the review and your support Bownse! Glad we could provide good service for you .

Some of the more experienced installers have mentioned a few requests for a more concise version of the instructions. We usually address these requests in a video version. (Our 08 WRX video is in its final stages- 08 STI version to follow)

Due to the differences for our 08+ STI application to the previous model years (particularly in the front area) we try to provide as much information as possible to accomodate a variety of installation experience levels.

In our experience, it is very helpful to the installer to discuss even some of "easier" tasks such as removing OEM clips and so forth. Detailing steps in this manner sometimes takes up additional space on the instructions (which either makes the instructions a bit longer) but we will definitely take everyone's suggestions into consideration.

Enjoy your new setup!

One thing I forgot to mention earlier.

The first thing my SiL said when the install was finished was that it really made the car's "rally background" more obvious.

So a significant change to the lines of the car for such a little mod.
