Default Area1320.com

Well I ordered an IWG bracket about a month ago from area1320 and still haven't seen it. I emailed them about a week after placing the order and they told me they didn't get paypal'd until the day prior to my phone call but would get it one made for me ASAP. Still haven't seen it and don't know if I ever will. I've emailed them asking for a tracking number (more or less reminding them of my order) since but haven't gotten a response. From what I've heard, they make a great product but it seems like they've forgotten about me. I'll try and call them on monday and see what's up with my order. I either need the bracket or need my $30 back cause they aint gonna get their cake and eat it too.

Update: Area1320 sent me the bracket. See post 6

I've heard this same thing from a few people on here and some people around my area as well since I live about 20 min from their shop. It seems like the guy who runs this place only does it as a second job kinda thing because if you look at their hours it's all evening and weekend hours mostly. But for $30 for a piece of bent metal it should not take them that long to get it out to you. If I were you I would get my $30 back and make my own. You can get flat stock from Home Depot and fab up your own based on pictures if needed depending on how mechanically inclined you are.

I was gonna make my own but I figured for 30 bucks it wasn't worth it trying to make my own. Lesson learned. I gotta say I've had the worst luck with vendors since buying this car. First was the deal with TDC Tuning, then Area1320, and now Spooled Motorsports sent me the wrong EWG and insists it's the right one... WTF happened to customer service!!! AHHH!!!

Man sorry to hear about all of the bad luck. The only place I've had 100% satisfaction with is TIC, every other place either takes a week to just ship the product or sends me the wrong stuff.

Update: Ryan (the owner) of Area1320 just got back to me. Being a one man operation and having been out of state dealing with some things, he hasn't had time to make it. He is however gonna make the bracket tomorrow and overnight it to me with a full refund. I told him to keep the money....but I don't think he will. Seems like a stand up guy to me and I'll be hitting him up again when I need one for the 2.5R (or 20g or sz49 or GT52....damn I can't decide!!!)

FWIW I'll post pics and rate the quality when it gets here.

I know Ryan personally and sent him the link to this thread. I knew he wouldn't pull something like this on someone, he's a good man. I'm happy the problem was solved.

Update: The wastegate bracket arrived today. This thing is very rugged, so rugged I tried bending and twisting it by hand and it doesn't flex at all. The welds don't look pretty but are very strong (Dad's a good welder so I'm a little critical when it comes to weld quality). It came spray painted gray and has hardware to hold it in place. I haven't checked fitment yet, but if it's a little short I'll use washers as spacer and if too long, I can slot the hole on top of the bracket.

Thanks AREA1320!

To those of you considering fabbing one up yourself, save yourself the time and spend $30 on this one. This is no hack job.

Will post pics soon.

Eric,
glad you got it buddy. Kind of a rush job so I didnt get the welds looking perfect :P But I assure you, its not breaking.

DO NOT use washers to take up space on it! when you install it, its made short to get the flapper door to clamp shut. Put the bolt in the flapper door but dont tighten, install the 2 small 6mm bolts into the bracket and the turbo and tighten, THEN tighten the 8mm bolt in the back of the bracket and the flapper door.

Pics of said bracket? Only asking because the website doesn't have one.

I used a $3 piece of flat stock steel to accomplish the same thing.
