Thumbs up TurboTrix Tune

ok, well after a less than-satisfactory experience with agile auto, i was very wary of attempting to get another tune, although they really didn't tune anything. so i showed up at turbotrix yesterday for my appointment and they were finishing up an is300 on the dyno, so i relaxed in their waiting area and chatted with the staff and some of the customers. when the time came for me car to go on the dyno, i was extremely apprehensive, i've heard nothing but good things about these guys(same case with agile), however i was still unsure. so mark boots up the computer and starts with the flash and i hear something i didn't hear at agile when i was there, my car actually spooling up and making a pull . about 3 pulls in mark comes to me and states that if i had an EWG set-up on my helix turbo, he could easily pull all but 400awhp out of it. . i asked him what it was making at the time and he said it's probably going to remain around 330awhp at the 19psi boost setting. i was so happy to hear my car finally make half-decent power, instead of waiting all day for them to tell me what i "needed to fix", these guys went to work and produced awesome results. i ended up with 330awhp/330awtrq, which is perfect for me right now. Again, i cannot stress enough how great these guys treat their customers. There were no snotty remarks or off-sided glances as they tuned my car, they just did it, no BS. I would refer them to anyone with a turbo'd car, especially an evo or STi. great shop, great rep., and great prices.
ALSO, i personally am not out to bash agile auto, i know they can do decent work, hill knows subarus like no other, however, they really should work on their customer service and honesty. if the car wasn't going to produce any good outcome of power, then why attempt to tune it? i would have never agreed for them to continue tuning if i had known they couldn't produce anything out of it. the list that i was brought at the end of my session at agile totalled about $800 worth of parts & labor to "fix" my problems. i cut it in half by taking it to my local shop, DMS performance( justin is an awesome guy, and easily the best honda tuner in the central pa region) and replacing my primary o2 sensor as reccommended, replacing spark plugs and tensioning the wastegate actuator. that was about half of the list that i received from agile auto, and it ran me a total of $300 for EVERYTHING. the car had no exhaust leaks, as stated by turbotrix and DMS. hill told me i had several. there was no "metal-on-metal" rattling picked up by the knock sensor, as hill said there was. AGAIN, I AM NOT BASHING AGILE. i am merely stating fact. i do not appreciate all the flaming and personal attacks i have experienced on this site, however, IT'S THE INTERNET. anyone can have big balls on the internet. but at the end of the day, you're still a coward because you can do nothing more than flame and argue, on the forums! come on guys, grow up.

ALL IN ALL, a great tune from TurboTrix has put a big on my face and it really doesn't matter what anyone else says.

not to be negative but I don't think you would go from 330whp to 400whp just by adding an EWG. I could be wrong but I don't see that happening. Glad to see you got a good tune. I've heard a bunch of horror stories with turbotrix and subarus.

yeah, well the wga on there is really crappy, boost goes all over the place(18-22psi, holding @ 19), he said if he could get it steady @ 24 psi it'd make 380-400awhp. heard nothing but good things from agile auto, look how that turned out. 3 busted cars

forgot to mention: i asked him to keep it @ 330awhp because of the wga, it made high 350'sawhp prior to the final tune.

How's the spool and top end power feel?

Would you reccomend this turbo over a reg. 20G?

When ever something goes wrong with the shop you dealt with, its common sense you would go to another shop for satisfaction. Many have been down the road where we recieve less than quality service and that sucks, but dont be misled to beleive Turbotrix is clean. I agree they tune well and have been doing so for the past few years, but they have their share of complaints from the Subaru and DSM community. (that includes their tuning)

And congrats on your tune. Very good numbers.
