Default Amazing tune by Agile

Agile is truly the “triple threat” of the aftermarket tuning world, offering unsurpassed knowledge & advice, amazing service, and all at an extremely reasonable price. They have installed all of my aftermarket parts and did an amazing tune to boot, I'm an Agile customer for life.

If you read the negative thread titled “be wary of agile”, then please read below. The thread was closed as I was writing the following in response and feel so strongly about the issue I wanted to make sure anyone considering Agile was not dissuaded by that post, it is way off base;

It should have been clear to anyone reading that post that the author is, at a minimum, “intellectually challenged“. Who complains about arriving to an appointment an hour early and not being seen until his scheduled appointment time? Who would complain so much about what they perceived to be a horrible tune from someone who, in their opinion, didn‘t know what he was doing, threaten legal action, and then conclude that an acceptable remedy would be a “free” pro tune from that same person? Who goes for a pro tune from a shop where his “friends” had such a bad experience? Who goes for a pro tune knowing his car is in need of work (“tighten up wastegate“) and then gets irritated at the pro tuner for needing to independently verify the issue? Or, should the tuner just take your word before even starting the car (and if so did you expect that it would be done free of charge?)?

The irony of your post is that you have no idea how lucky you were to have someone as knowledgeable and honest as Hill to work on your car. He is a perfectionist with unsurpassed knowledge and its clear to anyone that has spend more than 5 minutes with him that he is passionate about what he does and takes great pride in his work. After installing an external wastegate on my 07 Ltd he later determined that an additional weld would help to increase the reliability and longevity of the part, called me up a month or so after the original installation and had me schedule an appointment to have the work done - all on his dime! I guarantee that the $800 spent at Agile would have saved you thousands of $$$ in the long run (so start saving and remember, “a fool and his money are easily parted“).

I could not he happier with my Agile tune. I will soon be adding a larger turbo & front mount intercooler - there is no question that I will be returning to Agile for the installation and to have my car retuned by Hill. There is another tuner about 15 minutes from my house but I would not even thing twice about making the 1hr 30min drive to Agile.

I am an attorney and would love to take this case on Agile’s behalf. Not only is there no way they would be held liable for any type of damages, either actual or otherwise, your case is completely without merit and so weak that you would likely be held liable for all of Agile’s expenses associated with its defense, including all attorney’s fees and their time lost from work. So if you have a large chunk of cash laying around that you aren‘t attached to, then by all means, please move forward with your case (and again, remember, “a fool and his money are easily parted”).

Personally, I’m extremely glad that you would NEVER, EVER go to Agile as I seriously fear being in a room with someone who is surely on track to win a “Darwin Award”, and as I plan on having all of my modifications and accompanying pro tunes done at Agile, I now feel much safer. In case you don’t understand the Darwin Award reference, and I would venture to guess you don’t, Darwin Award winners are those persons who take actions so ridiculously stupid that they end up killing themselves, and in turn cleansing the human gene pool by insuring that their genes are not passed down to the next generation - I don’t want to be anywhere near when it happens. And in case you don’t know what genes are, well, never mind….

yeah, well i'm pretty sure my lawsuit would've flopped without the support of steve and matthias's testimonys. but steve could easily have closed their shop with how high profile his car is. im sorry guys but agile is nothing compared to turbotrix or CBRD. it's second rate at best. maybe i should've joined the agile auto fan club before i went for my tune and then i might've gotten taken care of. anyway, mark from turbotrix said he's had to fix a few of their cars before that they screwed up and gave terrible tunes. their dyno is also highly inaccurate. doing pulls from 4th gear just does not seem to give the best reading for power output. but hey, if they're taking care of you guys, more power to ya. i just wouldn't ever send someone from central pa there, they've got a pretty bad track record with us. good news is i got my car tuned and everything worked out great, i still got ripped off from agile, but you live and learn. for any additional info please read my thread below

Every shop will say they had fixed the mess another shop made in order for them to look good. That bad method of business has been going on forever. Agile, Turbotrix, XXTuning, etc all have made their name in the tuning business. Many of their tunes have went well, and a few went bad. What we should concentrate on is what the shop actually does in order to compensate for the few times their tune goes sour.

Bad thing is, most business owners will find ways to pursuade you to believe it was either your fault or something faulty with the car that led to the "bad situation". No one likes to be held liable, and obviously they would lose tons of money if they had to pay for motors they blew, when all they get paid for tunes are around $300. There is no more honor system in this business unless the replacement parts were marginal in cost.

That guy still didn't quit?

I just skimmed through all the mess here and Nasioc to see what this was about and oh man

All I can do is shake my head and smile. When a shop gets such support, it means something. Acting like an idiot and calling names don't really help much especially in this case.

Hill and his crew did an amazing job on my car. I asked for a top quality one-of-a-kind setup, and that's exactly what I got.

EDIT: I just noticed he was banned. Good job, mods

Did he really commend turbotrix? Is that what I read?

I guess he didn't attend the 2007 WRX vs. EVO at englishtown then huh? You know, the one where an EVO didn't even make out to 60 ft and had to be put on a wrecker. The one with the BIGGEST turbotrix decal on his back window?

Yeah buddy. Forget Agile, I'm going to turbotrix!! FTW!!!

LMAO!!

I know you have checked back to this thread. So how does it feel to be banned and bashed for being YOURSELF?

So, so, sad. Waste of skull space.

I drive hundreds of miles to get my car tuned by Hill. I pass two other shops that could easily tune my car on the way to get my car tuned by Hill. One of those shops is less than 40 miles from my house but I still go to Hill. Hill FTW!

Bringing this back from the dead...

07 STi with AP 1.04 and a KN Panel filter. No other engine mods. Bucking is back, car is feeling terrible again. Thinking that a tune is my best route at this point. Not planning on doing anything more than an XR1 cat back and conservative tune right now.

For those with 07's that have been tuned at Agile, what are your thoughts?

Hey BoxTwo, I just got tuned by agile yesterday. I have an 07 STI with invidia catted dp, hks carbon TI cat back, and a cobb sf intake with box, and the ap v2. base line run 290hp and 290tq. the end result 327hp and 341tq. the curves are incredibly smooth, and the car pulls relentlessly!!!! it is just amazing. Hill did an incredible job, and the whole shop is awsome. I would highly recomend agile and hill, there is a reason people drive from all over to go there, personally i drove 1.5 hours to go there. just my .02
