Installing my Fp Green setup this week and getting some options. I have been doing some self tuning on stock turbo with great luck but im going with Big MAF, Modified Stock injectors, and the Fp Green so I dont want to push my luck.....
I'd rather not due to our affiliation with Cobb and EcuTek, but if you have the cables and software to tune the car with, then I can do it.

Ya I know what your saying. Its really a tough situation about the whole thing. I did have an accessport before. But Cobb sucked for me, why would i want to ditch a V1 for $400 so i can buy a V2 for almost $700

I was sick of the amount of time it took to flash and how slow they are being with software and updates on the v2's. I also wanted to get into some self tuning and do work on my own car, and that meant another $200 for streettuner plus it wasnt available for v2 yet and they havent updated ST. A local member and one of my local tuners up here told me to look into Open Ecu. I just wasnt overly thrilled with Cobb. And Ecutek became too expensive as well, my friend went with them and didnt like it. Especially now that the Ecu is locked

Then again, its not anything new really, its been used in the mitsu market for quite some time now too as well right?

Ill have to venture down some day and get tuned. I might be going with a blow-thru setup and adding meth so Ill need a retune. Thanks for answering! And yes i have the cables and software on my laptop!

Hey Chris,
I'm buying a car that had all his work done by you. ('04 STi -> APS SR55, APS FMIC, Ecutek, 850s, etc)
The owner says that his car was tuned for hot weather days.
My question is do I have to get it tuned when it's starting to get colder out?

What did a tune and dyno time cost you?

You should be fine, you can come down and pay for a few dyno pulls with data logging and see where that get's ya if you want.

ProTunes are $350.

Another very happy XX protune customer today. Put down 297whp/ 337ft/lb with just turboback exhaust on 2007 STi. (baseline pull was 268whp/287ftlb on cobb OTS stage 2 map). No more hesitation issues, and the throttle is so smooth and responsive. Chris does a great job and really seems to know what he's talking about unlike some others in the biz that I've met. Best $350 mod I could hope for.

is it just me or do these numbers seem low especially when compared to automaster's recent tune and that a stage 2 sti put down 297whp on the same dyno? I wonder if its the catted dp or that he's using a TMIC. XXTuning please chime in. Thanks.

i would imagine different dynos. on a mustang dyno chris was able to pull 271hp and 305tq in about 95-100 degree heat. with the 8% diff between the mustang dyno and chris' dyno it would have been right at 300hp and 330tq. my bet would be that its the dynos. plus dont worry bout dyno numbers look at trap speeds as that will tell you the true story behind the real power its makin. also chris thanks for the protune at gothams. mine was the white sti with the gf that was sittin on her shoes cuz the floor was dirty haha. the car runs great. the only thing ive noticed is when im driving at wot the boost gauge flutters at higher rpms. if you remember my car was the one that had the boost fluctuations on the baselines.

The stage 2 297whp pull was done on XXtuning's dyno. Im curious as to why this gt52 only put down about 30whp more. I'd expect that out of a 20g..

He had a Fujitsobo exhaust and TMIC. Not sure what Automaster has to do with anything though?

I know, right?

If you wanna compare my tuning to somebody else, please use somebody a little more qualified, anybody else will do.

I dont want to turn this thread into an automaster vs XX tuning war. I was just curious why this guy only put down about 30whp over a stage 2 tune when he's got a 52lb compressor wheel. I was comparing the car not the tune to automaster because they just tuned a car to 440whp running a gt52 on the lowest reading dyno I've ever heard of. I want to let you know that Im not bashing you guys at all. Im sure you did what you could with the guy's setup and could have made just as much power with the automaster car im referring to, I was just wondering what was holding this guy back so much. Shouldn't a gt52 should EASILY put down 350-375whp on your dyno on a 93oct tune? Granted the automaster tune was on a meth setup but I dont think that alone accounts for a 100+whp difference especially when their dyno reads significantly lower than yours. The reason Im so curious is because I'm almost done with my GT52 setup and want to make sure I dont end up like this guy...20g or less power with a 52lb wheel.

here's my mod list if you care to look at it and let me know if something I've got is going to hold me back. Just so you know this is all going on in the spring so any advice you have that can help me finalize my setup would be great. I still need items in bold. The rest is on my bedroom floor if not already on the car

Im concerned about the SPT cat back and Catted DP.....should I be? Thanks
