PHIL @ Element tuning.

He used to work for Turboxs and helped them develop the UTEC. he now does his own thing and still tunes UTEC's. He is a GREAT tuner and is cheaper than TurboXS.

I would shoot him an email and see what he can do. Tell him Ross sent you

TurboXS did a great job tuning my STi about a year ago. They developed the UTEC and tune cars on them every day, can't go wrong with that.

I'm not sure who I'm going to take my car to when I swap to a bigger turbo. I will probably go back to TurboXS but I might give Phil @ Element a call too. I'm still a year away from a bigger turbo so I have some time to sort it out.

cool....can they usually get you more power with a custom tune? One of my buddies with an evo said it wont be much better with the custom tune but i just said he was mad at me cause he hates my car.

A tune will get you more power over a predone stage 2 map. Due to the wide variety of exhausts, STis, get most pre done maps are very conservative. You should net probably ~20 more whp/wtq with the tune and you will have a much greater powerband which is the big benefit of a custom tune.

If you plan on doing anymore mods I would do them first before the tune so you can maximize your money. I got mine tuned with the UTEC + Stealthback but then later added a CAI, catless racepipe, new muffler, etc. I should have waiting to get it tuned until after that. I'm adding a few more parts, I'm going to start trying to tweak the tune a bit myself, and then down the road when I get a FMIC and a larger turbo I'll get it retuned professionally.
