Again we are conparing on slightly different dynos so keep that in mind.

Also my setup isn't complete as I have an issue with my intercooler. It appears I maxed out the Injen and I need to upgrade to the APS DR75. Right now I am not making the ~400whp I should be. The power early in the RPM band is proof that the fatboy wheel works and that I have more power to be made on the top end.

If you want to see my list of engine mods, click on the link in my sig.

Happy New Year...yer not a loser, yer an addict! Congrats to you and your wife on the baby!

I'll get in touch with deadbolt. I can mail the snail out during the down time of the piston installation. So the fatboy wheel makes a big difference with lag? Do you think I would get even similar numbers compared to your 55 if I change the wheel? The dyno you used reads higher or lower compared to the dynojet used to tune my car?
Thanks for the congrats and the info. Have good new year.

Adding the fatboy wheel to your 49 will make power sooner and possibly more top end. It will never equal a 55 since one is a 49lb/min turbo and the other is a 55lb/min turbo. The 49 with fatboy might make power even sooner than the 55 though.

According to XX Tuning the dynapack dyno I used reads lower than a dynojet dyno(what you used).

According to Tony @ XX Tuning yes.

[Edit] I've got a dynojet dyno in my town. Once I get my top end fixed by replacing my tiny intercooler I might get it dynoed on their dynojet. If I do I'll post the numbers there as well, but I have a feeling you might have already upgraded the 49 to a fatboy or to a 55 by then.

Your right you got me crazy. Andy is fixng my C43 now so when thats done the STi is going in for the works. Andy said that a upgraded top mount would increase the spool. I love the looks of my FMIC though. I am also thinking water injection but I do not want to lose my daily driving capablities. My car is beyond powerful enough. What is our problem? Why can't I stop modding and craving hp. I might have to check myself into a mental hospital.

I ordered mt SZ55 yesterday, when everything installed ill be making an appointment with Andy to get tuned. I'll let ya know how it goes.

So Andy accually suggested switching over to a TMIC opposed to the FMIC? Is this just for responce? I'd imagine your peak hp would go down with a TMIC.

^^ i find it hard to believe that anyone would say tmic for such a big turbo, unless it is strickly an autox car.. but then you wouldn't have a fp green or a sz55....

I am going 3" green(shipped today) with a perrin fmic. this should be a good safe setup for what i am looking for. With a 20g i would say a tmic could be a good idea.. but i woudlnt' do a tmic with anyting bigger.. just my .02

Funny I just logged on to search for the best TMIC. Andy emailed that he tuned a STi with stock TMIC. I THINK it was a SZ49. Spool was comparable to stock turbo. He wrote that if I wanted quicker spool I should think about a larger TMIC. I think with pistons and deletes, I'll buy a bigger turbo and run alot more boost down low and keep the FMIC. I hope to go the shop on my only day off. If my pregnant wife lets me. I am going to bug the sheezit out of him. I have to figure out a more powerful, quicker spooling daily driver with 400whp. I love my car now and it scares the average person. You can beat anyone on the highway because people give up a 120mph. I bought a new house, having my third child in 4.5 years, and running a business. Everything in life is in high gear and I can only think about my STi and her WHP. I am addicted to tuning my STi............I need help.

Nate, you are forgetting a key piece to the puzzle. When ever I told you to switch back to the top mount, it always included water injection. When I was running my stock top mount and a FPgreen and no WI, I was able to run 12.0s@114 without a problem. I recently tuned a STi with a Green and stock top mount and was able to get spool to exactly match a stock VF39, with peak power around 350whp. Now that car is a fun sleeper.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Andy, Let's do it. I want the first appointment available. Pistons, deletes, TMIC, water injection and one of your sick tunes. Then you'll have both my cars at your shop. I'm ready when you are. Andy if I install my TMIC tonight how would my current tune react? I have to sell my FMIC to replace funds after the new project. I've been thinking about ripping out the rotary in my TR6 and replacing it with a STi motor. Maybe the whole drive train. I'll drop her off also. Now three cars. I am serious I think a 1970 STi powerd Triumph TR6 would be sick. Thanks man you make it to easy.
