Hello all, my name is James Vanoy. I live here in West Virginia and drive a 2005 Subaru STI. I have had many mods added to my car over the years and when I need something done there is only one place I get 100% satisfaction from and feel secure enough to have my car worked on, Draco Performance.
The last time my car was at Draco Performance, they were to install a new product on the market called an InstaBoost System made by Nitrous Express that was designed to eliminate you spool lag when running bigger turbos. Also, they were given the task to clean up all my wiring and tune my car for four maps. The dyno tuning that they done was great! Their dyno tune technician treated my car as it was one of his own. He made sure every map was exactly were it needed to be for my car to be running in tip top shape.<o ></o >
Draco Performance done such a great job on my car last time that they are now doing a major build installing a Brian Crower stroker kit, cams, and externally waste gated uppipe along with much more. I was able to get every part I needed for this build directly threw Draco meaning I was not working with a hundred different company having to worry on were all my parts were. Draco did all of the work ordering them for me. My car will also be re-tuned for all of my new applications to insure I get top performance.<o ></o >
For all of you car tuning and upgrade needs contact Draco Performance and get 100% satisfaction and the best price! <o ></o >
Call at (704)-892-7661 or visit them on the web at www.draco-performance.com. They are located in Cornelius, NC. <o ></o >

Default Draco Performance

Beware. I have just had the worst customer service from Draco I have ever experienced in my adult life. I took my Legacy GT (blown motor, turbo came apart) to Draco in May 2008 for repair. I just got it back today, 4/10/2009. They charged me $2000 above my estimate and even tried to charge me storage fees when I couldn't pick the car up last week, even though they took almost a year to complete. While Barry may be a good mechanic, I have never been disrespected like I was by his wife, Leslyn. In some cases it took me days or weeks to just get a status update on my car. In what world is it ok to charge $2000 above the estimate and take almost a year to complete a repair. Stay away from Draco.

Very interesting first post. Seems like there's more to the story. 1 year just for a blown motor?....

I could write a book about poor customer service with them, so there is certainly more to the story.

The Legacy was my wife's daily driver. It had about 80k miles. It was serviced by the local Suby dealer regularly. I am sure it was just a fluke and Subaru corporate actually stepped up and offered some money to help with the repair although it was out of warranty. I did some web searching for a suby repair shop nearby and found Draco. It is owned by Barry Bodine, from the Nascar Bodine family. Originally I was going to get some performance enhancements, but after the long drawn out process, I just wanted to go back to stock and not give them anymore money. I had times where I would call Leslyn (Barry's wife, she ran the business) and it would take her days, sometimes a couple of weeks to return the call. If it took my 2 days to return her call, she would threaten to have my car towed in pieces out of her garage and she would charge me for storage fees. Once my car was in pieces, I didn't want to take it to another shop for obvious reasons. Of course there are 2 sides to every story and I am sure they have their own version. But the facts are it took almost a year to rebuild a motor and they charged me $2000 above the estimate. And, yes, this was an interesting first post, but I want to make sure any subaru fans are aware of the way Draco operates. I personally am a motorcycle guy as this was my wife's car, but we had to buy her a new car and now the suby is mine. Maybe I will convert...

Sorry you had a bad experience.

I've had a very good working relationship with Draco over the past couple years. Not sure I would let any other tuner touch the car at this point.

There have been times when the response to messages was slow, but the bottom line for me is the quality of advice and work. In my opinion, they are the best all-around sti power and suspension tuner anywhere near my zip code...

Work I've had done at Draco:
- downpipe and protune
- added cbe and intake, and protune
- suspension upgrades (springs, sways, endlinks, alk, shifter bushings, etc)
- brake related upgrades (pads, lines, fluid)
- aquamist 6 install (with fuel foam in jdm tank)

There were challenges with the hfs6 install, as with any new product, but they worked hard to address the issues until it was right.

Because of Draco, I have started to track the car (done about 6 events). All of the performance upgrades have delivered as promised.
