IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2006 Trader Rating: (15) | I know it has taken a few weeks, but I can finally post a review. First of all, I am blown away by how awesome Chris is. I will get into detail now of how it all went down. It all started the third week of July when I was about to finally get all my turbo parts installed and I sent Chris an email about the process of setting up tuning. He basically said when I am ready, book an Appt. and then email him for the base map. He also said he was booked about 2 weeks out right at that point. First week of August I called XX tuning to book the Apt. I was schedule the second week of August just in time for me to install and get some miles on the new setup before it was tuned. So all my parts are in and Chris sends me the base map right on time as expected. The car starts right up after the priming and checking for leaks, Smooth as Butter. No issues for the break in and drive all the way up to Ct. for the tune. Get the early for the 2pm appt. and they said he is right on time and just to wait around. about 1:30pm the shop takes the car to the bay to get it setup on the dyno. Chris comes out and introduces himself, and says give him a little to get everything ready and then he will call me out when he is going to start tuning it. 10 minutes later he calls me out with a few friends and video cams in hand. He asks me what am I looking for in the tune. I state very conservative because it is my daily driver. He agrees and about 6 pulls later he comes out and says he is getting about 360+whp and 370+wtq. Pretty rich tune and all safe. He says he can probably get more but the car is beginning to pull timing and it is not consistent. He thinks the lower numbers are both safer and more consistent. So off to the road tune we go. He did not have to tweak anything but the idle. About a week later for some random reason, my car started to over-boost. I checked all the connections I was able to see and everything looked fine. I emailed Chris and asked for suggestions, and he quickly replied with a new map to try. Same issue went on for a week or so going back and forth with changes to the map. We were both stumped, but he thought the over-boosting to fuel-cut was definitely waste gate related and had to be mechanical. I agreed but did not know where to go. From late night calls and emails, Chris always kept in touch with me to make sure everything was going alright and if anything new came up. After about 3 weeks of going back and forth, TONIGHT, during a quick check again by Chris05STi, he found that somehow, the vacuum line going from the boost solenoid to the waste-gate actuator actually melted on the turbo. Both ends were intact which is what I was looking for, but never looked in between. Dumb me, but once we got it back on and re-flashed the original map, LOW AND BEHOLD, the issue was fixed. I feel absolutely dumb about the whole situation, and I have to send my deepest apologies to Chris@EFILogics for putting up with me. I figured I would finally post this review once everything was figured out, but I would of even posted this earlier if I had the time to write it. I have been writing it out externally before I posted it here, so it was well thought out. To anyone looking for a tuner in the Northeast, EFILogics is the place to go. Chris is very responsive to any email sent and very professional and down to earth. I would highly recommend him to anyone. |

| Junior STI Driver | I purchased my car at the end of 04 its a 2005 STI. The car has gone through many changes over the past few years, but one thing that didnt change was where I brought my car to get Tuned. Chris has always been there for me, and gone beyond what a regular tuner would do. Hes spent many long hours on my car until its running perfectly, and made sure it was running smooth for my long drive home. If anyone is looking for a great tuner look no further and check out Chris at EFI Logics. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | I should add my 2 cents to this.. Chris - Great guy - Great tunes - Great attitude He tuned my current setup, 295awhp 355awtq, VF22, 2.5L, and I will most likely be going back soon for a retune with a few upgrades. Keep up the good work dude. See you soon probably. |
