Default Rob @ AMR (Automaster Of Westchester Dot Com)

Hello,

Just recently I've visited AMR, had an appointment with them, dropped
off the car on Monday, and since the car isn't my daily driver but a weekend
gateway car I didn't care about getting it back before next weekend.

In meantime I called Rob couple times to check the status on my car, when
it was finally ready after faulty APv2 unit on 02/02/07, I got out of work
earlier, and since I work in Manhattan, live in Brooklyn, took me a while to
get home, then hooped into my trusted '98 Civic EX and headed off to AMR.

It was around 5PM EST, traffic was bad, AMR is only open until 6PM and I'm
about 45min away from AMR without traffic, so I must admit, I was pushing
that poor Civic... more show then go....

I called Rob about 15min after 6PM, he calmed me down, saying he made some arrangements so he'll wait for me, I was about one exit away. Once
I got there the most of the shop was closed, Rob was waiting for me with the keys, then we taken a test drive... it started snowing, base temp was about 35 degrees, Rob told me to floor it on the straight...and I did... I started giggling like a little girl, car sounded great, power is incredible, I LOVE THE WOOOOSHHHH sound of the BIG MAF so does my WIFE!

I can't stress enough, but AMR has been top-notch, their products are 110% of
what they say, service is awesome and their knowledge of Subarus is beyond
of what I scan ever scope.

Once again THANK YOU AMR!!! I'm coming back for more!!!

Rob is often around on Saturdays. Sometimes he's out tuning, but give them a call. I've stopped by on a Saturday before.

Too bad that they don't calibrate a Big MAF in the correct way. Diesel: get a log of your MAF voltage vs. MAF g/s. Post it. I'll show you how it's completely wrong.

You are so right .... ... .. . NOT! They use a stock MAF calibration in the upper voltage area on a 70mm Big MAF . Just because a car puts down good numbers and drives ok after a tune doesn't mean that it is tuned correctly. Put that car in some unique environmental situations and this will come to light.

I am very tired of looking at other people's so-called professional tunes and seeing things like this. I use to just ignore it - not anymore. 'Professional' tuners will not change their ways unless enough people start calling them out on their manner of tuning. Simple as that. So, when I see a post that advocates how great a tuner is and then I have seen some obvious *wrong* things in their tunes then I will post about it. Simple as that. Don't get me wrong, I am not here to bash on Rob or AMR. I am just saying that things need some improvement and everything isn't as it appears. The crazy thing is that you have people who aren't tuners writing reviews of tuners. That is sort of ludicrous because the non-tuner has no basis for judging a tune.

Wolfplayer,

I do not know who you are nor have we ever met. But there is only ONE way to proper scale a MAF sensor. I do not know where you get your information from. We have run as big as 3.85" MAF intake systems and the voltage/gsec is perfectly scaled and on the money. Hence why we are able to make such high numbers on stock ECU. You as a moderator should know that if you have not been to a facility nor have had work done there, you should not make claims.
