Please, for the love of god, use punctuation. I have no idea what you're talking about other than your friends car blowing up.

Expanding on that, please provide some details as to what exactly 'blew', how it happened and what the failed parts looked like when they were pulled from the engine. Without these details, you've turned a tuner review thread into a baseless tuner bash thread.

Sorry to hear about your friends car though.

Brandon

nope no way..

i spoken to the owner of this car Doan, he even told me his mechanic did some stupid **** to his car,

well doans car was taken to a friend of mine her in town he worked for the subaru dealer in SD or people who dont know what SD is san diego. yeah well he worked there for 5 years and he took a look at his car he said he scared his block in the 2 cylinder wall to where any mechanic with the balls have to do some Cylinder Honing. doan was freaking out calling everyone that could help. my friend said you know what i dont want to do the job he didnt want to do the job because he didnt have the patience for doan. and now J*** from turlock subaru did the job that guy sucks and that whole entire dealership does fat cunts at the parts desk too. well the good thing that he has car back and a lot of money later he can drive it. i feel really bad for the guy and i would never want anybody to ever go through any of it. it just started with that meth...... man i love my subies so much i think everybody does and he man im just trying to look out for ya sorry if offended anybody with any of my comments or bad grammer im not an english major

You start off saying that you don't think the tune caused the damage, but then you continuously contradict yourself.

Its obvious that you don't have all the details about Doan's situation and what happened to his car just prior to the engine failure. It might be a good idea to talk to him about it before making accusations and assumptions about my work. I feel very bad for Doan's situation and would not want anyone going through something like that.

Thanks

And he told you how the motor went right after getting the car back from the mechanic who fixed his shift fork and drove the car hard on the wrong map? Don't you think its interesting how the car was fine until it was handed over to the mechanic and then failed right after?

Now I'm not going to sit here and say I never make mistakes... I'm only human. I try to take responsibility for mistakes that are clearly mine, but when there are circumstances such as with Doan, its fairly clear that something happened to the car while it was in the mechanic's hands, and I can't take responsibility for it. Its always easy to point fingers at the tune no matter what happens, but you have to remember to look at potential mechanical issues and/or user error.

In this case the car was handed over to a mechanic without any instructions. He may have pulled the battery, reset the ECU, raised boost, etc, etc. Then going out for a romp on the wrong map or at the wrong boost level could have easily caused the engine failure. The simple fact that the engine was fine before this, and failed almost immediately after picking it up from the mechanic should be a big clue .

Again, I'm very sorry for what happened to Doan's car and as I told him I'd be happy to help him out any way I can. I just can't take responsibility for it considering the circumstances.

Thanks
-- Ed
