The best part of it all was when my base numbers a 244hp 239tq went to 280.8hp and 314.6tq. Mike did an awesome job with my car.
I had almost identical gains going from Cobb's OTS Stage II map to one of Mike's maps. My car made less HP/TQ than yours (baseline), but the net gain is very comparable.

What blew my mind was the HUGE increase in midrange torque. I no longer care so much about peak HP, I love low and mid-range torque.

Dam would love to but I have school on wednesday nights till april 16th of this year and it is through my union so they are not to nice about letting you have days off. I will check if I have any vacation days left this year that I can use. If I do I may not make it this wednesday but will try to make it to the next one. Or I just may have to do it on a saturday. Thanks for the heads up. I want to see what "I" can do haha I am sure with the tune from mike it is capable of some decent numbers.

I should be heading over to GST to get my upgrade from stage 2 sometime next week.

All these positive reviews make me happy that he is the one putting the meth kit on my car.

hey guys i was looking around for tuners since i live in stockton ca. this shop sounds awesome. i have a question though. my sti is still stock, but i plan on buying alot of mods now asap, in fact i was planning on buying a full cobb catted TBE online tomorrow. aps 70mm CAI in november, and the cobb access port in december. Now i understand that i shouldnt run the aps 70mm cai without a tune. so i looked around and found this wondeful thread. ok here is the question.

instead of buying all that stuff online, can gst motorsports get them all for me, do the installs, and tune it all right there and there?

OR

should i buy them all first, install them all myself (except the aps 70mm cai), and then take it to get a protune from mike? I have a friend who can help me install these parts no problem.

so knowing that, what do you guys recommend? oh please answer the part of whether i can just buy all from gst motorsports, that would help out alot. thanks.

Well, It costs a lot for GST's mechanics time (I know, they are installing a laundry list of items on my car right now.) <--Not like I can do the work my self..not time, and no skill.

This is what I suggest, since I know exactly where you are, and where the shop is. Get the AP first, then have your friend throw on the TBE and flash stage 2. Get your CAI and what ever else and head over to GTS and have them install the CAI and have Mike tune it. The CAI shouldn't be a hard install.

I would not put the CAI on if you plan to drive the car to GST. Of course if you have AAA you can get it towed for free.

awesome. a few more questions, how much is the protune itself? any other mods you suggest i get before i have them protune it? so far thats all i've came up with. oh and last question, some guy in another thread said that they put "dino" in your car at gst motorsports. what is "dino"? i dont think he meant dyno, cuz when he mentioned "dino" he made it sound like it is a bad thing. what exactly is it? oh and i want to apologize ahead of time, since im writing this message literally right before i have to leave for work so i wont be able to answer until about 12 hours from now. will appreciate any response though. thanks man, cya ya after i get off work lol and thanks for looking out!

Well how far do you want to go with your car? Are you looking to get a larger turbo? Or are you going to stop around Sg 2 or 3?

Some cheap things I would ad: New Fuel pump, new injectors, one step colder spark plugs, and either a larger TMIC or FMIC. (IC's are not cheap).

You should be good to go...

As for the Dino.... He may have meant Dyno.

GST uses a mustang dyno, they call it the "heartbreaker dyno." Because it gives accurate reads. Often people get pissed because it "reads to low." Takes away your bragging rights.

tnx for the pm man. for now, i plan on probably stopping at stage 2 for now, ima add the cobb stage 2 suspension after and buy light body parts for the car. later down the road yes i'll go with a bigger turbo, but not for now. ima look into those parts you mentioned as i has seen of them listed alot in other threads. my friend wants to help me install in fmic eventually, but i dunno if i should just get a bigger tmic. what are the pros and cons of each?

When they meant "dino" they may have been talking conventional oil as opposed to synthetic. I was very happy with my Stage 2 + Protune from Mike and the guys.

There are a lot of posts on this forum that talk about the benefits of each setup.

It really depends on the goals you have for your car.

I am not too knowledgeable on this topic.

I went with a FMIC, because people say its capable of more hp, and it looks cool.

But there are good reasons for having a TMIC (although it can have issues with heat soak).

You can find used Intercoolers cheap of craigslist or this forum.
I think I might start a post about this issue cause I'd be curious to know.
