Default Dent Sport Garage

I thought I would let all you Mass. people know what my last tune at Dent Sport Garage yielded. They are located in Norwood, Ma., just southeast of Boston. My first tune with just a catless Invidia DP gave me 275whp and 312wtq. I returned today with a GReddy SP catback exhaust installed. On the way down to DSG I threw a CEL due to overboosting. I live almost 2 hrs away in Western Mass. If you read my first posting, you will note that my tuner, Matt, thought I would gain about 15 whp when I added the full catback. Some of you thought that was a bit optimistic, but as it turns out, it was conservative. My new numbers are 300.5 whp and 352wtq at 18.5psi.
I just can't say enough about these guys. They are exceptionally talented and very honest. Incidentally, their dyno is known to be very stingy and any numbers you get are definitely on the conservative side. Their prices are also very reasonable. Today's dyno tune was $150.00, for example. So I would encourage anyone who is looking for a good, solid tuner to give them a call.

DSG has a one year old Dynamics Dynamometer. My mods are pretty much what I have described so far: Invidia Catless DP, GReddy SP Catback exhaust,
K and N drop in filter panel, and DSG's engine mgmt system w custom tune. I am not sure of the name of the EM but it is not Cobb, HKS, or any of the other standard systems.

Glad to hear of so many other happy DSG customers. I got pretty much the same numbers on my 05 STI at stage II. These guys are just so honest and knowledgeable, esp. Matt. I just returned from a trip to Florida and the car ran flawlessly, cruising at 80 to 90 mph, getting 25-28 mpg. I'll be interested in what your header and uppipe yield. Keep us posted. Props to DSG.

DSG experience

Had some work done on my car at DSG this past week. Excellent group of guys. They are honest and know exactly what they're doing. Great prices for work, cool shop and great experience.

I had my headers, and IC changed out along with my boost solenoid with absolutely no hick ups. My car got tag teamed and was in and out with no problems.

+1 for you mass/ne guys looking for a quality shop that does quality work!

What was your gain with your new headers. Glad your experience was such a positive one. I have yet to hear any negative comments about DSG. They're the best.

3.3whp is the difference between safe and unsafe? Am I missing something?

I am glad to see so many happy customers of DSG. I met this guy at a work site with an Evo 8 and he said they had done some great stuff for him. I looked into XX Tunning, but there customer service sucked, couldn't get them to call me back, respond to my E mails or even answer their phone. When I finaly did get somone on the phone they acted like they could care less about my questions. I currently am running a cobb stage one, I have the Cobb TBE for stage two sitting in my garage. I have all ready had the Cobb TBE installed on my wifes 06 wrx, it was a little loud for her (and my nieghbors) liking, so I took it off with plans to install it on my 06 STi when the warrantee expires. I have to admit I was disapointed and a little suprised when DSG told me that they lacked the software to tune using my cobb accessport eventhough there website lead me to believe that they could. The person I spoke with said that Cobb was just slow on getting licensing information to them, but none the less if you are going to run a tuning shop, cobb's street tuner software should definatly be in your bag of tricks. They did offer to do an open ECU tune and un-marry the cobb, which kinda sux because I like the idea of using the cobb to settle CEL's and look at other data, not to mention the waste of money. I have an appointment this coming Wednesday and I will definatly post a follow up.

Well I had my tune at DSG and Matt definatly seems to know his sh**. I don't know everything about STi's, but my business back ground has given me the tallent of judging character. Matt didn't promise anything that he couldn't deliver. First we did a few pulls to see what the cobb was giving me. Then he un married the cobb and stated tuning. He smoothed out the fuel pressure, which under the cobb was jumpy resulting in uneven acceloration and boost. The tune only yeilded about 10 horse power over the cobb, but the throttle control feels MUCH better. No more jumpy acceloration and he got the peak boost to come in sooner than before. The car drives sooooo much more predictably now. The power seems much more usable and hopfully I will also see a milage improvment. DSG will definatly be my garage for future up grades.
