My WRX was tuned by Clark the first weekend in Feb (same as Tom above) and still have had no issues. the logs are far smoother and the car is more powerful than the OTS XPT map I had.

Just goes to show no one is perfect. You should develop a relationship with your tuner. Especially if you keep modding.

And you know Shawn, you could have gotten your XPT map tweaked, I have tweaked a few (06-07 WRXs specifically) and gotten better results than the way the car was running OTS.

I dont doubt that the XPT coulda been tweaked. Im a tuning n00b so I just assume let Clark handle all that fun. Numbers/math make me cry. I know that the map I have on there now was created with 18 hours on the dyno and I think he said 300ish street pulls. Either way my protune was the best money Ive spent on my car along with getting the 04 BBS's and bad ass race Dunlops.

I would hightly recommend that anyone who has just a OTS map shell out the money for a protune from somebody.

Clark is an independent tuner. He doesn't work for Vivid.

My car is running great!!!! How is your car running??

Clar will provide you with a great customer service, he respond your email quick if you have any question. He is on top of the 2007 STi's issues!!!

If anyone wants a tune by Clark, he is coming again to So Cal next weekend, PM "KJR" in Nasioc for details.

Yes Clark understands the 07 STI and how the logic works (he has also been tuning Subarus since 2002 IIRC). He does tune 07 STIs using the "USDM Denso" method and not the EU STI/J-Spec STI/WRX method (which involves changing more than just the DA tables, you have to change many stock parameters, I have been making a spreadsheet in my spare time to explain both methods that will be added to the main open source tuning spreadsheet). So his tunes are more "dynamic" in a way as it will switch tables based on many factors and thresholds. He does understand how to tune this way correctly (one of the few that does) and make a powerful / safe tune.

Information on this is spread out on romraider.com, but it is hard to piece it all together, especially for the DIY tuners who do not have access to the Cobb protuner forums (where Trey explains the logic and the two different methods).

The problem is that not many tuners participate actively in forums (2007 issues and other stuff), therefore we don’t know how ahead of the game they are. Clark is always posting VERY useful information and helping the community.

I would like to know the approach of other tuners regarding the 2007, but only less than a handful give you an idea of their technique.

What a marketing strategy wasted!!!!

Bump for Clark...
