I put the TIC kit on about 3 weeks ago. Going down the interstate today I noticed a clicking noise in 5th gear. It was a real fast clicking noise that went away when I touched the shifter then returns when I take my hand off. Haven't had a chance to take a look at anything. Any ideas what might be making the clicking noise? Anyone from TiC have any suggestions?

Thanks,

jj

Did you zip tie the reverse lock out cable to the shifter stay? I heard the noises for a few days and couldn't take it anymore, when I jacked up the car I was horrified.

The cable was almost completely worn through, had I acted any later and my cable would have been toast.

Actually, I have talked to 2005. His car has 6K miles on it and the dealer agrees that something isn't right. They are going to pull the tranny and take a look.

Asa - First thing I would definately check is the lockout cable.

I put the zip lock around the lockout cable, but mabye I put it to low? I guess it wouldn't hurt to add another zip lock higher up? I'll tear everything apart and see if I can find it. It mainly happens when I'm in 5th and a little in 4th and 6th.

Clint,
I got an 05 STi, and I have the original Short Throw Shifter setup installed when I bought the car. Is it really worth me getting the TiC STi Super Shifter Set that comes with the Kartboy lever and everything? Would it make a big difference? How long do you expect it to take to install? Also, I asked one of the mechanics, they said it shouldn't void my warranty, do you think it will? I am really serious in getting it, just wanna make sure I got everything straight before I go with it. Thanks alot!

you will absolutly love the product. i did untill my trans started acting up so i havent really enjoyed it yet but youll love it, as for warrenty all dealers are different so i would ask your service manager and see what he says. install isnt easy but isnt hard ive seen the directions and looks like it could be done but i got a hook up and my dealer installed for 100 so there you have it. i hope you buy the product you wont be sorry and im sure turn in concepts would really like it too
