Taken from another thread (Thanks to SoJDM for the text conversion):

Rain Guard Installation Impreza

The rain guards have three different kinds of clips:

1)Two very small clips (one per side of the vehicle). These will be placed at the very front of the rain guard. There is an exposed lug (in plain view) on the rain guard with a slot cut in it about 11/2 inches from the front of the rain guard. The small clip pops into the slot in the lug when installed.
2)Two large clips (one per side) with a hole in them. These will go at the front of the rain guard behind the small clips. The large clips will establish the basic location of the rain guards. These clips are screwed to the door frame (in an existing screw location) and the rain guard is clipped to it locating in a slot (hidden by the rain guard overhang) about 41/2 inches from the front of the rain guard behind where the lugs for the small clips are located. The locating slot is not readily visible.
3)Ten medium sized clips (five per side). These will clip the rest of the rain guard to the vehicle body. There is a circular dimple in these clips which is fitted in holes (hidden by the rain guard overhang) in the rain guard locating and attaching it positively.

NOTES:
1)By referring to the Japanese instructions you will notice the clips can be identified by the Japanese letters followed by an “A”, “ B”, or “C” (see parts list items “3”, “4”, and “5”). They are consistently identified in this way throughout the instructions, so you can verify your understanding of the placement of the clips and their attachment points in the illustrations. Some people have found it helpful to locate the parts in the illustrations and mark the instructions with an “A”, “ B”, or “C” in a red pen wherever the parts are illustrated to make the references easier to understand.
2)Lay the parts out, identify them and be sure your understanding of the steps and placement of clips is correct. Once you understand the installation, the Japanese instructions are only necessary for illustrations.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1)Clean the area where the visor/guard will go with an the alcohol pad included with the rain guards.
2)Pull down the door weatherstripping (page 3, first illustration).
3)Line the rain guard up above the window. Do not remove the protective cover on the double-sided tape yet. With the rain guard in approximate position locate the screw on the inner face of the door jam where the large clip will be anchored (page 4 of the instructions, top illustration). The hidden slot in the rain guard (about 4 inches from the front of the rain guard) will be directly above the screw you are to use. This is not the visible lug with the slot in it about 11/2 inches from the front of the rain guard. That is where the small clip will later go.
4)Alternatively, you can use the measurement provided in the illustration to locate the screw (page 4, top illustration).
5)Remove the screw located in steps 3 and/or 4. Pull enough of the double-sided tape protective cover off at each end of the rain guard to give you a place to pull the tape cover off when the rain guards are in place (say an inch or so each end – page 3, bottom illustration). Attach the largeclip (illustrations on page 4) to the door jam with the screw while locating the other end of the clip in the slot provided for it in the rain guard. This indexes the basic positioning of the rain guard. Usually an assistant holding the rain guard in place is necessary.
6)Next, with your assistant holding the rain guard in correct alignment in relation to the plastic trim piece surrounding the upper door opening (page 4, bottom right illustration), pull out the double-sided tape protective cover while pressing the rain guard against the vehicle causing the rain guard to adhere to the it. The alignment should allow the correct placement of the medium clips (page 5, middle illustrations) and the front-most small clip, both of which will be installed in the step 7. You must make this determination accurately because once the tape is adhering to the vehicle, it will be nearly impossible to remove.

Some people have reported that they installed all the clips (or sufficient number to locate the rain guard) and then pulled the cover from the tape working along the length of the rain guard, thus insuring proper placement and alignment of the rain guard. With the rain guard pressed against the vehicle by the clips, the tape cover may not be as easily removable using this method. Only you can determine this for yourself.

Install the medium clips and then the small clip (page 5, all illustrations). The medium clips have dimples which register in holes in the rain guard making for positive positional location. There may be more holes than clips. Refer to the illustration for the correct locations. The small clip registers into the slot in the readily visible lug (page 5, middle illustration).>
7)Reinstall your door weatherstripping.
