I assume that people should notch the front sheetmetal for the MadDad headers too? I can see that there was some contact with your header and the header wrap is fraying.

You know, I was so tired last night I didnt even catch that. It must have happened on my test run. Guess I am going back under today to work that out. Thanks for the heads up.

On that note, I had to notch the subframe near the collector. Otherwise I couldnt get them on as there wasnt enough clearance.

Yea the MadDad headers need to have some of the subframe bent/grinded down. Rich @ MadDad has mentioned this a lot in the past on NASIOC.

This seems to be an STi only issue (or maybe a 2.5L engine only issue) since I think the 2.0L WRX can be installed without modding the subframe at all from old posts I vaguely remember when MadDad first came out with these.

I just used a big pair of plumbing pliers to bend the subframe out of the way and it worked well for me for the short time I had those headers installed on my car.

For you guys that have the Maddad headers/up-pipe, are you guys on your stock sub-frame?

I just ordered some ceramic coated header/up-pipe and I have the do-luck sub-frame. I'm hoping there would be no interferance with the frame. I'll see when I get the parts in May since they're back-ordered.

Kinda OT: I have some group-n engine mounts and kartboy pitch mount that I need to install. Would you guys suggest that I wait for the headers/up-pipe to come in and do them all at once? Since I'm installing the ACPT CF drive shaft tomorrow morning, I figure I do the mounts as well, but I don't want to do things twice if I have to lift the motor.
