I haven't kept up with this thread, but if you point me to the relevant posts that actually tell HOW to do it, I'll be sure they get into the HowTo forum and index.

i've done this as well. it works!
only two wires have to be disconnected!! it's time consuming to get to the diode though but if you take your time it can be done.

ok I stripped the relevant posts out of this into a new thread titled "How To Disable DRL in 2007STI" in the main HowTo forum.

Finally got around to doing this mod. Took about 10 min. I just cut the GY wire from the B95 diode to disable the HID DRL. I left the city light DRL alone.

THANKS A BUNCH for the pictures and info everyone. I hated having my HIDS on during the day.

I've been searching around and haven't found an exact answer. Basically I want to get rid of the HID DRL but leave my City Lights on. So I went and pulled the "Green" wire on that little white diode. Boy was that a mistake. Now my headlights don't work. So I reconnected them back together. One of those 3 wires is what I need to cut right? I was wondering if you knew which one it was?

I know this has already been said somewhere, I'm just too stupid to understand.

Where exactly is the diode? Where exactly is the relay? I've got my glove box off and can't distinguish them.

it's about a foot above the relays and midway in the glove box. You'll laugh at yourself once you find it (in a "I was looking at it the whole time" sort of way).

It has 3 wires: GR, G and GY.

Old thread alive again!

I was thinking... yea, noob thinking! Scary. So what if someone wrote up a way to rewire things so that your parking lights were used for DRL's instead of completely disconnecting them. Any other interest in this?
