I don't have much to add other than _the_ STi guru in Colorado Springs (can't say his name, to protect him from his employer) says that he's going to try to work this out, and i've given him the green light to use my car as his guinea pig.

He took care of the horrible HORRIBLE seat-belt bell in less than 15 minutes, so i trust him implicitly.

(BTW: he took care of the driver's seat seat belt bell ONLY... i told him not to bother with any other seats, as it might have affected the airbag. And that would be a bad thing.)

i'm an ex-military cop, so the idea of being belted in as i slow down and am about to get out of my car/putting on a belt while in a parking lot just doesn't sit well with me.. which is why i had that bell disconnected.

if/when i make any headway on this, i'll be sure to let you all know. But i DO know that my guy has that exact same diagram that he's working with...

The seat belt chime is an easy fix, just buckle/ unbuckle the belt 20 times and it shuts off the chime.

Get the hell out of here. Are you serious? Does the car have to be on? Does it have to be exactly 20 cause I don't count so gooder.

chime definitely cuts off after doing 20x within a min. --bings a few times when you put the key then turns off. btw, resets if ecu loses power from battery.

Any other thoughts?
I ran into the same problem....the "city lights" were still on. So we cut the "green-yellow" line from the Diode and $hit, it didn't work. Then I got brave/stupid enough to cut it...the "green-yellow" line from the RELAY, it works like a charm. In conclusion, for me, cutting the "grenn-yellow" line from both Diode and Relay works.

All credit should go to my good friend Danny-Boy who actually did all the work. IMO, it looks so much better without the running light on during day time.

Hey man, we need pictures and a write-up on how to do this... for those of us, like myself, who may not know exactly what we are looking for and what to do when we find it. Thanks!
