Default Need some help with the face buttons surrounding the IC sprayer....

I'm heading to ATL on the 25th, and picked a few goodies before hand. I purchased the Bel RX65 radar detecter with the Smart Direct Wire. I'm looking to hardwire the detector, and mount the smart display next to the intercooler button. Is this possible? I've never cracked the dash open and checked behind there...

Here's the idea on another car:

There's three buttons next to the steering wheel, the middle is in use by the IC sprayer. I checked and the display is in perfect size for one of the buttons.. I'd like to mount this on the one closest to the driver's side door. Possible? What should I use to make this as flush as possible?

Picture of said cord:

Thanks much
Steveee

Ooooooo, yes please... find that link!!

I ordered the bundle package with my radar detector, so it came with all the accessories in one package. Google the Direct Smart Wire 8500 x50, and you should get some good results. They're only 30 bucks, so awesome deal!

I think it's BoostJunkie who has that fit into a blank next to the IC spray button.

It will work, break out a dremel and trim it to fit.

I did something similiar so I could mount my UTEC there.

How are you going to see that? I integrated a v1 remote display behind the clock in mine. I put the mute button on the end of the left stalk.

What do you mean?? The face plate will be showing, so you see the alerts.. I think I'm confused with what you asked though.

PM'ing BoostJunkie now, thanks for the heads up!

Here's a pic of my install. It's kinda blurry but it's the only one I have.

And here's the writeup on how to do it. It's very simple, just take your time.

I mean is that the only alert that there is radar? If so, wouldn't you want it more towards eye level?

oh, haha..

Nah, there is an actual radar unit you mount on the windsheild. That smart display is only for stealth mode at night time. You tap dark mode, and the unit blacks out, and your alerts come from that smart display... the radar dectector on the windshield still alerts you with voice and beeps though, which is cool.

Ah I see - the V1 is a little different.

Did it the other day! Came out great!! I reversed it a little though, so the labels would be correct.
