Ran into a problem installing, the shaft would not rotate to let me get to the other bolts. I think because it was on ramps and not on jack stands. Is this correct? I only have 2 jack stands, I'm about to go buy some today or tomorrow. I want to know if you need all four tires free to move the driveshaft. Sucks because I just installed an exhaust and it would have been easy to do it right there...

Since it is awd, I think you need all 4 tires in the air to move the driveshaft which rotates the tires.

Ok last question I promise, got everything in, feels good, took it up to 120 no problems. Drove the car pretty hard and nothing seems wrong. But after installing there is a big gap between the driveshaft and trans. The stock has it as well but it has a metal plate that seems to protect it. Not sure if I'm missing a piece or not, here are some pics, just wondering if everyone elses is the same.

am I good? Or just worrying too much?

mine looks exactly like that and you are good == the new shaft doesn't have a collar like the stocker--it is perfectly fine

Well the Stock driveshaft has what looks like the same gap. The only difference is it has sort of a metal tube or 'shield' around it that connects to that goldish crown coming from the transmission. All I was wondering really was if I was missing a piece.

Just installed mine today. I have to say it looks great but I do not like the large gap there is between the shaft and the tranny. BTW know the fastener/2 bolt clamp in the middle of the oem D.S.? Are you supposed to put that on the new D.S.? I dont think you are but just making sure I did this right. Thanks!
