There are plenty of bolts on the heat sheilds on the car. First, remove all the bolts on the sheilds you can see. Then find the ones you cant The sheilds are secured by a bolt, with a nut welded to the other side of the HS. I think these are 12mm bolts. I know there are 3 of them holding the HS by the manifolds on each side of the header. I dont remember about the middle part, or the part that attaches to the uppipe.

Either way once you have them all off, simply remove the 6 (14mm) nuts that secure the header to the engine, and the (i forget hoe many) nuts that secure it to the uppie and it drops right out.

I have had my headers in an out in less that an hour (but then again, i have done it a few times).

hope this helps.

it's really simple actually...
if it has no uppipe with it, you won't have to bother with taking that out..

otherwise, take the shields off which are just a bunch of 10 or 12 mm bolts.
then unbolt the header from the uppipe and then from both sides of the manifold...it'll plop right down then...you can remove it in pieces if you would like to...i think our header is three different pieces?

IIRC yes to both of those.

and if the header has an uppipe..
then you gotta remove the downpipe and unbolt the uppipe from the turbo from above also removing the tmic...be careful not to hit any oil/coolant lines on the turbo (caesar)!

you also gotta get an 02 socket for the 02 sensor in the uppipe...

You need an extension on the socket...

O2 comes off first..

quick ques ... im trying to remove the O2 sensor, however, a)there is little room to work as all of you know and b) when i get my hand around the sensor, there is nothing that resembles a bolt that i can either get a wrench around or use the O2 socket for removal ... do i need to use a vise grip for this?
