Well other than the wonderful noise that it makes it has some benefits. It will completely cure the boost creep problem that occurs when you add a TBE and especially a catless TBE. An external waste gate (EWG) control and holds boost pressures much more acurate than a IWG. When looking at the switch to EWG in the long run I think it is a good thing to do if you are planning on swapping to an aftermarket bolton turbo. The EWG will offer a tuner much better control of boost with an different turbo.

I kinda looked at it from a long term perspective as I do plan on a new turbo down the road, and I wanted a fool-proof fix for boost creep.
