I wouldn't think you'd be able to change that. The display reads in green..not like the HVAC controls which just have an LED behind it that you can swap.

There have been some attemps made to do this but non have worked out too well. Most involved coloring the lense in front of the numbers red, but this will make it unreadable in the day and very dim at night. Good luck.

I did this for my clear painball gun hopper. I dyed it red. It came out realy good and could still see clearly inside the hopper. If you could find a lens the size of the one in the clock and replace it with the one you dyed it may work.

"RIT fabric dye that i got at Micheals
Dissolve it in hot water in a saucepan that you don't care about possibly picking up color (or getting dye in food you cook later).
Let it cool so that it's not so hot that it will melt the plastic parts.
Let the parts soak until the dye soaks in to the color you want.
Rinse with cold water."

this would not work as i have taken them apart. The lense in front of the clock is a dark green and the display is green as well! HOWEVER...i did make my clock in my 04 wrx a redish/orange color which matched better than green but like somebody said...you really cant read it all than well during the direct sunlight.

what i did may seem a little ghetto but it sure worked and knowbody knew until i told them. I was eating some dorittos and if you have ever torn open a bag you will notice that the red on the outside of the bag peels off and is clear. once i figured this out i tore a little piece off and then took my clock aprt and put the piece of plastic in between the display and the front plastic piece. Again....really ghetto but it worked and it looked pretty dang cool at night. I took it out eventually b/c i could not read the clock in direct sunlight.
