you put them underneath the car...

j/k, couldn't resist...

I put them right to the inside of the jacking points on the sides of the car. I usually jack the car up from either the rear diff. or the front diff or transmission crossmember. Sorry, no pictures...

I use the jacking points. I jack the car up one side at a time, putting the jack under a beefy looking part of the subframe. I go about halfway on one side, then all the way on the other side, then back to the first side to level it out. Takes a while, but so far so good.

I do the same as DR. SUBIE does. I drive up on ramps, then I jack up the rear from the differential and put the jack stands on the rear jacking points. Then I jack the front up from the crossmember-looking thing under the engine, and put jack stands on the front jacking points. Works like a charm.

Just make sure while your jacking the back up that the car isn't about to roll off the ramps..make sure your on a nice flat surface. My driveway is alittle bit of an incline, so I try to get someone to sit in the car with they're foot on the brake.

Check your owner's manual. There are 4 spots along the side skirts that are ridged and are where to jack the car up using the crappy stock sissor jack or another jack. They are just behind the front wheels/just before the rear wheels. A diagram of these spots and other safe jacking points are in the owner's manual.

The rear diff can be used to jack the entire back up and the cross member on the front can be used to lift the the entire front of the car up, if you can get a jack under there. When I was still on my stock suspension there was no hope of getting a jack under there, now it's even worse since I've lowered it and installed the V-Limited lip. I have small ramps I drive up which give me just enough clearance to get a jack under the front of the car.

I like to put the Jack Stands under the front frame rails. And on the rear under the sub frame mounts.
