I saw someone with a 04 that put a t-fitting and a gauge directly in the fuel supply line in the engine compartment. You can't see the fp while your driving so it's kinda dumb to have it there. Depending on the gauge, you can do the same thing and have an isolator so you can mount the gauge in the car. I have the aps fuel rails and they have ports for gauges. I don't know what other brands have the same setup. I think that on the stock fuel rails the supply line is the line on the top. The line on the bottom is the return, you don't want to tap into that one.

Not to be a jerk but:

1. Bumping you old thread is usually a better idea than starting a new one
2. It's "fuel", not "feul"
3. I don't know any Subie owners that run fuel pressure gauges, most people seem to go with Boost, EGT, and Oil pressure/temp.

Fuel lines are something I don't think you want to mess with unless you know what you are doing. Personally I would take it to a professional and pay them to do it. I wouldn't want to mess with fuel lines and break anything, do a bad install that may lead to a line breaking and spilling fuel all over a hot engine bay, etc.

Thats kinda rude.
Let the guy do what he wants. A fuel pressure gauge is a very simple install.
Performance engine=performance gauges regardless of type.
I know several people with fuel pressure gauges in their subies.

I'm not trying to keep him from doing it, just recommending that he pay a professional to do it since fuel lines are not something you want to mess with unless you know what you are doing IMHO.

IMO fuel pressure is just as important as any other gauge. no fuel pressure and your ****ed, just like no oil pressure and your ****ed.

i run Fuel press, oil press, egt, and boost.

Use an electric gauge and tap the top line on the drivers side of the intake.
There are no "ports" on the stock fuel rail.

yeah, its a electric gauge, thanks ill try there, as far as suby owners buying gauges, whats it matter what car? i had the gauges laying around, so i figured use them, from other cars, yes those are important what you mentioned egt and oil , but with any forced induction, id say the 2 most are widfeband 02, and boost, as far as FP, i think its good to, if you start detonating, first thing id say is look at if you fuel is cutting out or boost is creeping or spikin...which was both a problem on my other 2 cars thats why i got it and i didnt want a 250$ gauge go to waiste...so i bought a triple instead of a double.o well..and as far as fuel, your right about the spelling, must have been a brain fart, or just happy hour got to me..lol i look at it now and am saying WTF was i thinking??? i do that sometimes, also im not the best of typer but i did it like 3 times so obviously i was just loseing it...haha...also no offense taking, i understand some people feel superior to others when they get to correct someone...its cool

the point i was trying to get across was that i don't know many subie owners who have installed a fuel pressure gauge so i wasn't sure how much help you'd find on here since most people go for the boost/egt/oil combo and we only know about setting those gauges up. fortunately it looks like TheMadScientist has some knowledge about this and offered some advice.

i'm sorry i gave you a hard time, i guess i had been having a bad day that day and took it out on you. for that i apologize. with the misspellings and multiple threads about the fuel pressure gauge i was worried you were another n00b/troll but it looks like you have a fair amount of knowledge when it comes to cars which is cool and i'm glad you're on here. again sorry for the hard time.

This is how mine is setup. It gets the reading from the line between the fuel filter 'out' and the fuel rail 'in'. My car is JDM STi though, so it just uses clamp connections. I believe the USDM STi should be the same except it uses a different type of connection.

Just be aware that when you order an adaptor it has to have 5/16" barbs, and the port has to be correct for your sensor. The Defi uses a 1/8" BSPT, whereas most US sensors are 1/8" NPT.

Most people don't run big enough injectors to worry about out flowing the GSS342. I would say ~900cc+ and you "might" start to run into pressure problems, just from looking at the graphs of the pump.

230l/hr is ~ the max flow at 65psi line pressure and 13.5V or ~22psi manifold pressure. If you run more boost than that the GSS342 flow drops fast.

800cc/min X 4 = 192l/hr
900cc/min X 4 = 216l/hr
1000cc/min X 4 = 240l/hr

So most people just trust the the fuel pump will work based on other peoples experience and the measured specs of the pump. The mentalty of why spend more on another gauge when I know it works and the OMGWTFBBQ of cutting fuel lines. I don't have a FP gauge but I do have a WBO2 setup in the stock clock pod. I think of Fuel pressure gauges as a diagnostic tool.
