Default How do I adjust the height of my brake pedal?

I really want to learn to heel-toe, but my brake level is about 5 inches higher than my gas pedal, I would like to lower it so it's even with my gas pedal so I can heel-toe.

How can I SAFELY adjust it without jeopardizing the integrity of my brakes, the brake travel, etc.? Should I even attempt to do it myself or should I have my dealer do it?

Thanks

In my '06, I'm having no problems myself, learning and using it on a daily basis. I also have small feet so maybe it'd be easier if I got my pedals levelled too.

As a beginner you really can't heel toe unless you are on the brakes hard enough for the pedals to become level. Once you master braking that hard then you will notice that the gas pedal is in the proper location. Changing the car is not the answer, learning to adapt to it with proper technique IS the answer.

My recommendation would be for you to get to a place that has decent driving instructors so you can learn safely from an expert, not messing around on the street where you can hurt someone.

True. I can't heel-toe in the traditional sense, however, I "roll" my foot to blip the gas pedal while downshifting and braking. My knee will not allow me to blip the gas pedal with my heel. This is another option to produce the same results. My pedals are all stock heights.

I see I need to add another link to my sig. "heel and toe" does not mean literally using the heel and toe of your foot. It means using the brake and gas at the same time.

here's one of the best links I've come across to explain it.

I tried to heel-toe using both sides of my foot and my foot just is not wide enough.

What can I do?

Grab a sledge hammer, smash your foot a few times until it widens. Lets the bones settle back, and then drive!!!!!!!!

J/K i have no clue what you should do

use the ball of your foot on the brake pedal and tilt your heel more towards the gas pedal. This will effectively make your foot wider. Unless you have baby sized feet this should be enough if you are doing it correctly. Also you heel needs to be UP off the floor. When driving hard your heels never rest on the floor which is why racing buckets have such good thigh support making it feel like your ass is in a "bucket" hence the name....

Hmm... I find heel-n-toe really easy for the STi. What I do is blip the throttle with a right edge of my heel. I also think that lowering the front seat to its lowest point helps some what. The pedal positions are not the greatest but after couple days of driving, I can heel-n-toe driving in traffic with no problems. BTW, my feet ain't wide at all.. lol
