The easy way of getting all the connections is from the OEM boost gauge plug and fromthe radio harness plug. The OEM boost gauge plug has the regulated ground so you will be able to dim the gauges with the stock dimmer. The other connections can be tapped on the radio harness, just use a test light to find needed connections.

Yes, where the wire connectors for your factory boost gauge connect. If you don't have a factory boost gauge, such plug will be taped up on the stereo harness. That plug provides the regulated ground in order to be able to dim the gauges with the entire cluster.

Did you set them up in order for them to dim?

Ok, this is great news, but to verify, are you saying this plug for the boost gauge is behind the stereo on the wiring harness? How many wires does it have and/or what does it look like?

I tapped an EGT gauge into my old WRX wagon through the clock, but this time around I want to stay away from the clock and get a regulated ground.

Your help is appreciated,
Chris

Yes, the plug where the OEM boost gauge connects is taped to the stereo harness. It only has two wires, purple and orange w/ white stripe. It is just a two male prong plug.

To tap onto the clock is a pain in the arse.

***Note: I installed two electronic gauges yesterday tapping into the same place, but I guess these gauges don't like the regulated ground and would lose power when being dimmed.

Hmm, I may end up just going through the clock again as it wasn't too difficult. Easier to get to IMO. Why did you think it was a pain in the butt?
