Your license plate lettering idea is brilliant!!

My buddy is giving me the lip off of his limited for free!! It ripped off around the bolts, but it is in perfect condition. I think some washers will take care of the now bigger mounting holes. I can't wait to do this!

can anyone tell me which direction you need to insert the rubber inserts that the bolts screw into? the rubber inserts at profile look like a "T". the pictures in the instructions look like they insert it upside down to where the bottom of the "T" would be pointing up towards the hood.

i'm having a hard time figuring out how that would hold. common sense would tell me to install it where the bottom of the "T" points down so that there is something that hold onto the factory bumper.

The instruction is correct. You are suppose to insert it that way. Once you tighten the bold the rubber gets compressed and it will flare outward like this:

/ \ rubber piece
\ /

========= lip

I used bolts and washers from sears to put mine on. Like I said in my previous post, the original holes were made bigger by it ripping off my buddy's car. I did use the plastic plug inserts that were already on the car though. There are two of them that I used. Each one is located below the fog light covers. If you hold your lip spolier up to the bottom of the bumper and center it, you will see exactly which existing plugs to use and where you need to drill. Use the existing plugs to hold the lip on, and then use the rest of the holes as a template to drill the holes. I hope this helps. Good luck!
