not to be an ass, but i hope you know that a turbo timer is not needed on the stock turbo. it is water and oil cooled which means it will cool itself off after you turn the car off

If you insist on installing it, do you know if a harness is available for such a turbo timer? Usually harnesses are available for factory turbo cars.

If not, then you will have to start looking for the correct wires and splicing what ever wires are needed into the harness. You will definately need a test light in order to find the required wires.

If you need help, PM me... I F$%*ing HATE the norm response "you dont need one." Some of us do indeed have turbos that are oil cool only and in fact utilize a TT.

Thumbs up

PPERICFE what type of turbo timer did you purchase? most turbo timers are simple plug & play. you can also purchase a separate tt harness for the timer. for instance i have an hks type 0 timer and bought the subaru specific harness. timer runs about $65 and harness about $15. all you have to do is disconnect the ignition line, plug harness male n female connectors onto each side of the ignition wire, then plug 3rd adapter onto the turbo timer and there should also be a ground wire (black). thats it. you can add the optional kill switch to the e-brake line if you want. i suggest you do it for safety reasons. its simple if you need any more help let me know.

well you have to make sure you purchase a subaru specific so that it is all plug & play, i believe part # for the hks harness is FT-3. let me know if you have any other questions.

You have to get the one that is specific to Subaru and your turbo timer. Check the vendor you got it from as they normally carry the harnesses. If not check fleabay.

the hks harness will work. also if you have the factory alarm or keyless entry you have to cut the dark green with black stripe wire the is above the fuse box.here is a link for step by step instructions because i too hate when people tell you that you dont need something. http://www.swankmonkey.com/subaru/wr...mer/index.html

To the guy that started this thread - if you are installing on an 04 STi this will help you out. 95% of the online 'how to'are not STi specific. For bypassing the keyless entry and security module you will need to know the proper wires to clip:

Security module behind the glove compartment - wire to be disconnected is green with black tracer (instead of gray). PIN #2

Keyless Entry module above fuse box on driver side - wire to be disconnected is green with black tracer. PIN #6

Also, the emergency brake wire is Green/Lime instead of Pink like in the MY03 wrxs.
