Default STRI Boost Gauge for 07 STI

I was wondering if anyone had any how-to's for STRI boost gauges. I've searched and looked on the last 2-3 pages and couldnt find anything.

Thanks

i would imagine boost gauge install to be the same regardless of band. do a search on "boost gauge" alone, thats what i did, i found more than enough info. g'luck

I don't think this has been posted before, so I'll go ahead & do it. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

I used an Autometer Carbon Fiber 2 5/8" vac/boost gauge, part #4801. It comes with a very thin tubing and you'll need to buy your own T fitting.

Here's a brass 1/4" NPT T fitting (A):

You'll need 2 1/4" NPT nipples that fit the particular vacuum hose that you want to tap. For the one I used, I believe it was 1/8". These are parts B in the above picture. Part C is included with the Autometer gauge and is used to connect the thin tubing to this T we've made. Don't forget to use Teflon tape on the threads to seal everything!

This is the hose I tapped:

Go into the passenger footwell and find this hole in the firewall. Run the thin cable through the hole.

Note: If you're planning on mounting the gauge on the driver's side, find a grommet there as the thin tubing isn't long enough to run from the passenger footwell to the driver's side.

Here's where it protrudes on the other side.

Since this is DIRECTLY above the turbo and its pre-cat, make sure you ziptie the tubing away from that and any other hot spots.

Hmm, guess I didn't take a pic of the T fitting installed, but you can figure that out. Just snip the vacuum hose in two & slide the T in between it and connect the thin tubing! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

It works!!! (Gauge in temporary location)

The gauge doesn't really look that carbon-fibery, the flash just brings that out. It's real c/f, so if you know what that looks like, it's quite subdued.

Here's a better pic:

Thanks for the help.

I'm more concerned with the wiring part as it's probaly going to be an electrical gauge I go with.
