Default How to change mirror caps?

Is it possible to change the front painted mirror caps?

It's kind of a pain but it's doable. You want to remove the mirror first because you are going to need some room to maneuver a screwdriver.

Here's how to do that:
HELP!!! Install/Replace new side mirror...

Once the mirror is off you need a long thin screwdriver to pry at the tabs.

EDIT: It's sad that I actually have a mirror skin right next to my computer to take pics of....

1. Start with the bottom of the cover. There are 4 tabs that you need to pop out on the bottom (circled in blue)
2. There is also a large tab on the outer edge that you need to pop out (also circled in blue)


3. Now comes the hard part. You need to pop off the 2 upper tabs (circled in green) but as you'll notice in the picture below they are basically very large hooks. You just need to take your time and work them off of their mounts on the mirror body itself. Also there is double sided tape holding the mirror skin on if I remember correctly so you'll want to replace that as well.
