Ok Heres whats been going on...I went to a couple turbo places by me and everyone said the same thing..."it spins fine, shaft is good but the cover is Junk"...my reply "Thanks genius, but what about where its rubbing?" ....."OHHH no no the whole thing is junk"
After those conversations no one would split the turbo to see whats goin on I offered to pay but no one would do it they all wanted the full rebuild of over a grand...
So im in deep why not go deeper? I bought a SR57 compressor cover Fine Line Imports of Cali hooked me up it has a 3" inlet and bolted onto the rest of the turbo perfectly....I wanted to run it in the car and if everything was good I would ask greysave to pay for the cover...it was only 175 shipped to my door! (fully packed bomb proof)

NOW I NEED HELP AGAIN! when I went to install the turbo I ran into more headaches... 3" compressor inlet is looking near impossible with that massive perrin inlet pipe and the stock top mount looks like its going to be too close....Has anyone tried this swap or similar? I really dont want to start cutting stuff out of the way, I have a FMIC pending installation, if that would help the situation let me know...any help is ALWAYS appreciated, if anyone is bored an wants to talk about it PM me for my number. Im on Long Island, you can find me in Nassau, and Suffolk out east near the Smith Haven Mall. Thanks again for the support!!

This right here should be a new thread, you are off topic now.

Thread has been trimmed. Maverick, this thread is for talking about the deal gone bad. If you are having other issues, start another thread in the correct forum.

Well I have not tried to contact greysave yet because I still don't know if the turbo is internally damaged. Due to a lack of funds the project is being put on hold for a few weeks. As I stated in the first update post Im having difficulties with installation...

I guess you're letting everything slide then. The longer you wait, the more likely things will NOT turn out in your favor.

it sounds like greysave is blaming everyone but himself for the **** packing job and not paying for insurance who in there right mind wouldn't insure a turbo of that price. Ok sure you can blame USPS for dropping the package but all they will do is say you should have insured it so then it all comes back to graysave for not insuring it.

graysave stop being an asshole and man up to ur mistakes and give him his money back!

Agreed. Personally I wouldn't try to help greysave out and find out if Maverick can still use the turbo if he repair's a certain part and just have greysave pay for the repair (which is what Maverick is trying to do if I'm correct). I would take legal actions asap and stop fooling around.

I would have given him a month to man up, then he would have a subpoena for small claims court in his mailbox!

I've read through the entire thread and it is clear that the cause was a poor packing job heres a true story, use it as a lesson. I used to own a 3000gt vr4 and i worked the hell out of that car. I ordered 2 new larger turbos from ebay and when i called the seller about the shipping he said that he would insure it since i was paying him 2K for them. When i recieved them i couldnt believe how they came. he actually made solid wood crates and shipped eache turbo seperatly and disassembled and eache peace had a 4 inch layer of bubble rap. and the boxes were filled with so many of those little peanut things i am still finding them in my garage. so what i am saying here is obviously common sense told this ma that these things were expensive and he did everything possible to ensure there safety upon delivery. it did take me like an houre to get them out of the boxes but each piece was in mint condition! next time take the time to properly wrap something so valuable!

I recently had to ship a $1000 paintball gun. Very old.. very rare.. very unique. Anyway, I decided to take it to a mailbox etc, place that DOES the packing for you. Shipped across country, packed, insured, all for $60 bucks. What did the guy do? 100 layers of taped bubble wrap, filling and pasdding from top to botton with the item securlly locked in the very middle of the box. Practically bullet proof. A key factor to a good packing job, is making sure that the box is SO full, that it can't bounce around inside!

Anyway, it arrived mint and the buyer loved me for the packing job (even though I just paid somebody else to do it ) But it was well worth the money to both parties.

I hope the best for the buyer in this case... good luck!
