Exclamation Scammer Central

Please post your scam-related stories/threads here. This will help to warn potential buyers/sellers from possibly getting screwed over.

We have tried to limit scammers by placing a 90-day probation period on posting classified ads, and introducing the buyer/seller feedback forum. But, we realize that isn't going to help 100% of the time.

I don't want this thread to turn into a flame-fest. So, just a short story (and a link to the classified ad if available) will suffice.

Here is our first scammer alert.

"spdkillz" is a possible scammer.

I bought these injectors from spdkillz a short while ago.
As you can read above, he said they were used for only a short time. Via email, he sent me pictures and also told me that they had just been sent to RCE to be cleaned:

Since I'm just about ready to do my turbo upgrade, I had the injectors flow tested.
Unfortunately, they don't work as promised.
One injector doesn't flow at all, and the other 3 flow terribly and quite inconsistently.

Here's a pic of the injectors... you can see the damage on one of them:

I've tried getting a hold of him for the past 3 days on NASIOC and IWSTI through PM's and email and still no response. He has definitely been online on both forums to check his PM's and email though so I'm a bit worried here.
I don't want to say the "s" word yet, but it might be.

I'm hoping that he's willing to return what I paid for the injectors and I'll be happy to send them back.

I'm bumping this thread up as a warning to all who may potentially purchase from him... but he may be a solid guy and do the right thing. Time will tell.
The following was posted December 3, 2006 - no progress with the seller:

Do the right thing.

Here are spdkillz pictures:

Here are my pictures:

Notice how the scuff marks, the gouges on the plastic, and the gouge on the metal is all EXACTLY the same in both pics.

I took these out to take a picture of them and handed them in the original packaging to the guy doing the flow testing.
Once again, the result:
1 injector doesn't flow at all (see the damage in both sets of pictures)
3 injectors flow but are inconsistent in volume, and NOT USEABLE!

What more proof do you need? These pictures paint a pretty clear picture.

Your friend gave you damaged injectors and you knowingly or unknowingly sold them to me. I don't really care what the situation is, I just want my money back.

i have pictures of these before they were shipped!!! i just got back in town as explained in my reply to you and since your tryin to smash me why would i work with you??? even though they didnt look near that bad when shipped??
That is not true since I posted both your pics and my pics depicting the exact same condition of the injectors.

RECARO/BRIDE/SPARCO bucket seats rail&side Bracket
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1164169

JackT is another possible scammer.

He started a thread on IWSTI selling some rare JDM Recaro rails almost a month ago. He emailed me some pictures, and was very helpful. I paid for it, but I still have not recieved the item yet. I PMed him 2 days ago and got a response

"I will check on it"

Today I saw the exact same items for sale on NASIOC. What are the chances that two sellers will use the exact same Thread Title/Descriptions/Pictures.

I'm convinced they are the same person. I checked the "Find All Threads Started By..." on both NASIOC and IWSTI. Both sellers posted same items for sale in the past.

Scam.

Default CbnSTi = scammer

FS: (FL) - Stock 05 Sti Parts

So I saw this for sale thread and I was in need of stock struts/springs/tophats. So I pm'ed him about them. He told me everything was in working order and assembled and I believed him. Asked him for pictures for about a week, never produced any and then said that he had them boxed up and in his trunk so he couldn't take any. Definitely sketchy and I should have realized then that it was going to be a complete mess and should have walked away.

However, being hopeful, I sent him paypal because I was trading in my STi and didn't have time to locate another stock setup. Then I waited for two to three days to see if I would get a tracking no. and did not. Ended up waiting for another week and half for him to finally ship out the struts after he used bogus excuse after bogus excuse. When everything finally got here, there was a spring missing, the three remaining springs weren't even STi springs and the rear two tophats that he sent weren't from an STi.

So suffice to say, I was a tad upset and proceeded to pm him and e-mail him to no avail and after threatening to post up here and file charges, he finally responds to my e-mails and pm’s. He claims that UPS damaged them, that they have ‘messed around with his stuff’ before, etc. He then asks me to send everything back to him to make a claim with UPS, to which I tell him, “Not until you issue me a refund”. He says he will and I bother him about it for two or three days and he doesn’t. He then disappears from the boards and doesn’t respond to any kind of communication. I file a claim with paypal and my credit card company and proceed to ship everything back to him per the request of my cc company.

Now here’s the funny part. So, the return address on the package was obviously his place of work. Genius must have thought that if he sends it from work, I won’t be able to send them back to him. So, I looked up his paypal information and sent it to his home address instead and insured them. The look on his face when he saw that package arrive must have been priceless.

Fast forward two weeks to today and what shows up at my door? DingDingDing! You got it: the broken package of struts/springs. My friendly, neighborhood UPS man informs me that the he refused to accept the package and had them return to sender. He then told me to file a claim with UPS because the parts looked incredibly damaged and he wrote down that they were delivered damaged. So, I called up my CC Co. and informed them of the happenings and called up UPS to file a damage claim. Both said that they would take care of it. The CC Co. already refunded my money and UPS saw the notes that the driver made and are working with me as well. He gets to deal with those guys now.

If anyone would like to further help me out, I do have all his information via paypal

In closing, watch out for this character. He’s either not the brightest of fellows, or a total scammer or both.

CN: CbnSTi claimed to have a complete stock set of struts/springs. The he took my money and proceeded not to ship them out for a week. When he did, did so from his company and shipped me a set of unusable struts/springs and proceeded to say that UPS was responsible. Then asked me to ship them back to make a UPS claim. Repeatedly asked him for a refund, never issued one, disappeared from the boards. Refused the UPS package when it arrived. I file claim with UPS and CC Co. and post here.

MySTi06 scammer

FS: (CA) - Pagid Race Brake Pads. 100% Brand New. PRICE REDUCED, NEED TO SELL

Pads listed as Brand New 100%

They should have 15mm of pad thickness per Pagid representative

Not only are they used, the bad is disintegrating from the pad backing.

This guy won't return private messages, emails, or communication through Paypal. I escalated to a paypal claim, but they denied it stating that they only cover shipment problems, and not intergrity of the product. So basically i'm screwed out of money. Thanks, asshole. The only posts this guy makes are to sell things, watch out for him.

My suggestions to people buying things on here, Ask for a picture with your S/N on a piece of paper next to the item you are considering.
IT really sucks that there are so many scammers in the world.
I was told about this site about a month ago by a fellow sti owner, I have my car and parts for sale and he said this would be a great place to advertise it.
But because of all the fricken scammers in the world I have to wait 90 days to post.

Please be careful or just don't deal with Imprez@9:

Back Story:

I posted a while back in the WTB Ads for any short shifter Cobb or Kartboy-- Imprez@9 replies in the thread that he has a whole setup, I PMed him asking if he can part it out as I only need the short shifter. Here's our convos:

This was on June 22:

Ok, just make it $110 paypal'd to aceofhearts009@yahoo.com.

Thanks,
Marc
And for the rest I just took a screen shot of the rest:

As for the payment:

So it's been almost 3 weeks, no short shifter and not even a tracking number, and barely responds to emails or PMs, so I think it's more than fair that I post this.
