Today we finished the testing on our 2011 STI with the Blouch Dom 1.5 Turbo. We have done countless Blouch 20g XT builds here at TopSpeed, but no one had ventured out to try the ball bearing Dom 1.5. We were honestly floored with the results!
What we look for in a stock location turbo is something that we can keep drive pressures down on, still spools quickly. A lot of the bigger stock location turbos do not appeal to use because of the high drive pressures and laggy nature. We feel that you have to give up so much power curve most of the time that its better to stay with either the smaller stock location, or just bite the bullet and go rotated.
This turbo however surprised us! We are very happy with the curve, power, spool and top end performance. This test was done using an 8cm hotside, however we will be swapping to the 10cm to see how much power band we give up. I would recommend this turbo to anyone looking for great power, and a huge broad power band!
