IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2008 | Numbers Dyno: DynoJet Tuner: Innovative Tuning Wheel HP: 296.24 whp Wheel TQ: 301.20 wtq Car Info Year: 2006 Engine Management: Cobb AP V2 Tuned By Innovative Tuning Turbo: Stock VF-39 (With a crack in it) Intercooler: Stock Injectors: 740cc Injectors Intake/Inlet: Stock Headers: Stock Uppipe: Ultimate Racing EWG 44mm with .1 Bar spring Downpipe: Invidia Catless CBE: Cobb CBE (With 2.5 inch piece removed) Other Power Mods: -Grimmspeed EBCS -Walbro 255 fuel pump -1 step colder plugs Little bit pissed since I was hoping for more power. The crack on the VF-39 truly isn't that bad. It leads up towards the top of the turbo and the turbo does hold boost fine. Mike from Innovative decided to tune my car to 18psi just to be safe. There are NO boost spikes and the car runs pretty smooth. I was hoping for more torque obviously around 330wtq+ at least. Right at 6k rpm there is a MAJOR spot that concerns me, Andy and Paul from Neetronics. The car was not knocking at all, but I think a closer look is needed by Mike himself to weed out this tuning problem. All in all, I was expecting much more than what I got. Still need to figure out why the car is a son of a b$%#* to start up when its cold. Next up: -Bigger TMIC -Meth -Dom 3 -Clutch. Thoughts? IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2008 | The biggest question here is what does a STOCK STi do on this dyno and work from there. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2008 | Protuned sti's will usually put 300-310whp and 330-360 awtq on this dyno depending on boost levels. -ie Hkstacker put down 308 355 if I remember correctly, but that was a healthy VF at 21 peak psi tapering to 19. I never did a OTS stage 2 dyno. Infact I went from stage 1 cobb straight to this protuned. All in all mike at Innovative did an awesome job for working with a cracked VF and 18psi. I guess I am far to power hungry. Next up...new turbo |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 | Id talk to Mike about it. I think he has a tendency to tune a bit conservatively, but then again I cant say for sure. FWIW, i was protuned to 18-18.5psi on my set up with a TBE, APS CAI, PnP headers with a Xpipe and Up pipe. I have never been on the dyno though, so your boost I dont think is that far off. Remember there is more to tuning that just boost levels though. Honestly though, call Mike up and see if he can get really aggressive with your car if that is what you are after. |
