IWSTI Addict since: May 2005 | Numbers Dyno: Dyno Dynamics (1.0 Correction) Tuner: AMR Wheel HP: 342whp (stock 201whp) Wheel TQ: 420wtq (stock 220wtq) Vehicle Location: USA Car Info Year: 2008 Engine Management: COBB APv2 w/ AMR Reflash Turbo: STOCK Intercooler: AMR Top Mount Intercooler (TMIC) Meth Kit: None Injectors: AMR 750cc Injectors Intake/Inlet: AMR BMI Cold Air System / AMR Turbo Inlet Hard Pipe Headers: AMR Race Headers Uppipe: AMR Up-Pipe Downpipe: AMR Catless Downpipe CBE: AMR Stealth-Back Exhaust Other Power Mods: - AMR 272in / 272exh v1 Camshafts - AMR Electronic Boost Control Solenoid (EBCS) - Walbro 255 Fuel Pump Dyno Sheet: Notes: We have got alot of request and questions regarding what the stock turbo can do with a set of camshafts. Nothing was changed on the vehicle other than the camshafts and tuning. So here is the results. We installed out AMR 272in / 272exh v1 Camshafts on a STOCK TURBO 2008 STi. We were very impressed with the results. The turbocharger is pretty much done with the camshafts. Boost hits 21psi and tapers hard to 14psi. The original tune boost tapered from 21psi to 16psi. The turbocharger does is not large enough to produce the air needed upstairs. As you can see from the dyno sheet. Across the entire RPM band we picked up HP and TQ. Peak torque jumped from 390wtq to 420wtq. Peak horsepower increase by 20hp at 5200rpm but continued to gain and showed a 40hp increase at 5700rpm. No doubt with a larger turbocharger the gains will continue to grow and shine. AFR: 10.8afr Octane: Pump Gas (93 octane) On a side note we will be installing our v1 272/272 camshafts on a 2008 STi equipped with our T60R to show you guys the gains with a larger turbo. -Rob |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2008 | to change out the cams, does the motor HAVE to be pulled? i can def see it'd be a much easier job with the motor out, but is it a must? id prefer a cam of this nature over meth injection personally. i feel it'd be a safer alternative to similar power gains. |

Yes, the engine, unfortunately has to be pulled out in order to install the camshafts on the EJ series engines. -Rob | |
