Talking 2006 STI - 541whp/491wtq

Some of you may have seen this car run at the Midwest Subaru Shootout recently, so we figured we would at least make a thread congratulating the car's owner, Eddie Torres. ("Fast Eddie" for those at the track this weekend. )

The car bested an 11.28 @ 122 with a 1.59 60' this weekend, with plans to return to the track with some more things dialed in to get that coveted 10 second pass. For now he is biding his time during the week by driving the car about 100 miles daily during his commute. Yes, this car is still a daily driver.

Anyhow, here's the abbreviated mod list just to whet your whistles a bit.

2006 Subaru WRX STI
Vehicle Modifications:

P&L Motorsports GT35r Rotated Turbo Kit
P&L Motorsports Reverse Manifold FMIC Piping Kit (Final Stages of Prototyping!)
P&L Motorsports Race Series Cat Back Exhaust
P&L Motorsports 1000cc Top Feed Conversion Injector and Fuel Rail Kit
P&L Motorsports Fuel Pressure Regulator
Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump
RAW (Axis) Stage 3 Block
P&L Built heads w/272 cams no porting.
GM Boost Solenoid
Cobb Accessport v2
Jorge Protune
&
many other miscellaneous bits and pieces

Tuning is on 100 OCT. Boost is 29psi tapering to 26-27.

We expect much more out of this car on VP or c16.

Wow, thats fricken awesome. I did a double take when i saw the engine bay until i read that it was reversed. Any reasons to that?

I think it looks better, but any power gains from the reverse than normal?

Thanks dude. Let me know when you're ready. We have all the MAF cal info already on our site. So you can always download it and start looking at how it all plugs into EcuFlash, etc.

negotiable, It is mainly for the wow factor show ect. As for spool, it is very minuscule on the + side but takes alot of work to just spin the manifold change the engine bay setup and so forth.

We see an average of a 300 rpm difference.

Yeah, that isn't a lot, but I sure wouldn't term it "minuscule".

Cool. I'll probably get tired of the 20G just in time for Christmas.

"Hey honey, how would you like about 80 more WHP for Xmas?"

"Sure!"

"Ok, you take my old turbo, I'll get you new injectors and a pump, but I have to get this rotated 35R kit"

"And how much power will you have then?"

"Oh around 500 WHP or 600 CHP however you want to look at it."

"Goddamn, I am glad we have life insurance on you!"

Well as long as you don't get on it alot, the mpg difference shouldn't be more than a couple mpg.
