Talking 2005 STi - 520whp/462wtq

TopSpeed RR1 race motor break in tune results!!!
***High boost results in post #24***

I'm back from the dead boys and girls. And I couldn't be happier at this point. I popped my stock block back in November of 07. Cracked ringland on #4. I pulled it out and decided to let Doug and the gang at TopSpeed build me one of their new RR1 long blocks. Doug seemed to have done his homework on all of the parts and how they would work together. Plus he ran this set up in his time attack car last year, and anyone that knows anything about his car knows that it was unbelievable. That's all that I needed to feel good about the build. That and Scott endorsed the build which was all that I really needed. As he is a very good friend of mine.

The break in tune is very conservative. 20psi peak tapering to 18.5psi at redline. Very minimal timing and no AVCS tuning. Done on Chevron 93 octane only.

Mods are:
UR 35R .82AR turbo kit w/ Tial 44mm EWG
Grimmspeed P&P manifolds and cross pipe
3" non-catted TBE Magnaflow Ti
Full TGV deletes
Deatschwerks 850's
TXS FMIC with retrofitted UR counter-clock wise FMIC piping
TopSpeed RR1 long block w/ JE 100mm pistons and Cosworth cams
Hydra EMS tuned by the GREAT Scott Siegel

Once break in is completed, the 30+psi meth tune is going to be absolutely insane. As the car sits now, It is much faster now that it ever was on the previous set up. (FP Red w/meth @ 27psi) I am truely amazed. And the car runs and idles better than it ever has. And I've owned it since new. My hats off to the entire TopSpeed crew. Especially Doug and Scott! What a duo.

Enjoy!

Thats how a power graph should look, flat tq curve with peak hp being made at redline.

Good injectors!
I have your 740's on my Legacy GT, had 740's on my STi, and currently have your 850's on my STi. Best injector on the market IMO. Keep up the good work!

How much did it all cost, or would it cost me to duplicate?

Topspeed is the tuning shop for me. I drive from San Antonio, TX to get tuned by them every year.

Going back on Tuesday (3-25) for the high boost meth tune. 30+psi actually having some timing and AVCS tuned in should be insane!

We didn't have the day that we wanted even though it still turned out pretty powerful. We made 520whp/468wtq at 26.5lbs of boost with a hard taper back down to 23 at redline. We wanted to try and use the Hydra boost control with a Prodrive solenoid. That didn't work. Hydra boost control is crap!!! We then went to a Hallman manual as a quick back up plan. It did pretty well, but just couldn't hold any boost up past about around 5700rpm or so. We then went to the street to finish everything off. As usual, we were able to make more boost at 27.5lbs peak with a taper to 25lbs. If we could have gotten that on the dyno, Scott says that we could have gotten 560'ishwhp and around 490wtq or so. We were still gaining 12-13whp with every pound of boost added at redline. And all of this was on 93 octane with a 75/25 meth/water mix.
When boost hits around 3700rpm, you have to hold on to the wheel tight, because it hits hard and pulls even harder all the way to redline which is where peak HP was made. The car has much more power in it. I have an AVCR on order, which should help us on my next trip without a doubt. Scott says that 28-28.5 lbs of boost is going to be the limit with 93 octane. At any rate, the way she sits right now, IT'S A WILD RIDE!

28-28.5lb is the limit on 93 octane, or 93+meth?
