| Junior STI Driver Feedback Score: 1 reviews | You're telling me a decked out ej25 with a GT45r on 30psi is only making 500whp and SHOULD only be capable of picking up 25mph? LOL Man, I'm sorry but that is a joke. |

Trevor, It was not tuned for 30psi, we lowered the boost so the customer would get comfortable. Again his first time driving. 500whp on our dyno 300whp increase over stock. I will not give answers to your comments since you honestly have not read the thread nor watched the videos. We know what we are doing and have been doing so for over 50 years. Please do not comment on my thread if you do not have anything nice to say. -Rob

Why won't you answer what the IDC's are and what injectors are in the car? I honestly don't mean to seem like I'm 'flaming' you, I just think there is something up.

For the IDC's at 30psi I would have to look at the logs. Next time we go out, I will make some passes with the vehicle to show its true potential. There are to many variables for you to make an assumption of only 25mph in the top end. From the logs, he did not shift at peak power and short shifted, the vehicle was running rich due to not being tuned at that boost level. The tune is the biggest part. If you do not have the right amount of timing and fuel, running 30psi does not mean anything. We lowered the boost for him to get comfortable. No car first time out off the trailer with a first time AWD driver will run a 9 or 10.0 in a 1/4mph. It is not possible. More than 50% is driver. I am proud of customer, he improved drastically in only 2 passes. His first pass did a 100mph in the 1/8th and 118mph in the 1/4. So what does that mean? Absolutely nothing, he is not launching the way he is suppose to and causes a hard BOG at the line, so he spends all of his time, with a turbo this size, in 1st and 2nd gear building the boost back up. I understand what you are saying, but you must realize there are to many variables to come to the conclusion you are trying to make. If this was the 5th time out then I can understand your concern. -Rob

Everyone talks about their dynos being low, everyone else says that guy's dyno is high...whatever, there are two good indications of how much power a car makes...the track, and how much fuel it uses. Since this car is significantly over-turbo'd, de-tuned, with a green driver, I guess we can't go by track performance, so the simple thought is how much injector does it use? Are you running 1600's? Are you running 1000's? 90% duty? 40% duty? That's going to give you a good indication of how much power this car makes. A GT4508R Garrett is an 1100hp turbocharger any way you slice it, so unless you're using a good amount of a 1600cc injector (or most of two 750+cc/cylinder), something is wrong. I understand that boost is simply a restriction of the air that doesn't get into the cylinder, but why is there such high boost pressure if it's not using injector? Is the exhaust not flowing well enough? Is there not enough camshaft? Intake manifold problem? What's going wrong? That's all I'm trying to figure out. I'm sure you guys have answers for these questions, I just haven't seen them put up. I would much rather have a 70-74mm turbocharger for this power level because the powerband will be far superior than running a big GT45 with it's 87mm turbine. If the goals for this car are 1000+ wheel, then I can understand the turbo selection. But I can also tell you that a 45R doesn't want to make 1000hp at the sort of pressure ratio this 800hp data is indicating it will be operating at. Thoughts? I'm not trying to discredit or be argumentative. Just looking for answers.

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2008 | what? Internally the engine can safely hold 400HP, but the block itself can hold 5-600HP. anything above 500HP you gonna need to sleeve the block and put pistons etc into it. |
