2006 STI - 326wtq/290whp

Just got back from getting my first tune at Doug's Dynopower here in LV. Tuner was Clark Turner. Very friendly people and did an amazing job. Mod list is...

3" catless dp
injen cai
stock catback

Tuning done on a Mustang Dyno and final numbers where 290whp and 325wtq. Car feels so much smoother now. O by the way i baselined at around 250whp and torque. so he jumped about 65tq and 50hp. Amazing.

was that under a safe tune??

Im not sure what you mean by that. THe motor isnt going to pop at any second if thats what you mean. AFR's are smooth like butter right around 11.5-12 thorough the WHOLE powerband. 0 knock. There was about 5 different tuners watching the whole tune and where all blown away by the numbers i made on a mustang dyno with minimal mods. Im sure he could've squeezed more out but after the 4th run he said hes done and the car is pretty much dialed in perfect right where it was at. Perfect daily driver if you ask me and still quiet with stock catback.

yeah idk because everyone running catless are getting these crazy numbers...291 and 350 are what i make too, but im completely only at stage 2!!!! (catted of course)...no two cars are exactly identical but there's no way they made yours that special so you can't help but wonder how much strain your putting on your motor (thus jeopardizing the reliability factor)...daily driver you say?? well thats with mine too, but which is why i went with a "safe tune"...i think your thinking the other way because running catless isn't really good or practical for daily driving as opposed to just weekend driving
